Title: Excellent value speakers.
Review: The woofers in my 30 year old speakers rotted and I was going to discard them. But I found these and for the price figured I had nothing to lose. The size wasn’t exact, so I had to dremel the hole in the enclosure a bit. When I hooked them up, I was very pleased with the sound. Perhaps they are not audiophile quality, but they sound good and give bass a nice punch at higher volume, but not too boomy.Excellent value, I am very pleased. The speakers are not marked for polarity. When looking at the back of the speaker with the connections at the 6 o’clock position the negative terminal is on the left.

Review: One of them started to rattle(left)as if the music was breaking up,when I turn the music up the worser the rattle gets, the lower the lesser the rattle, no amp hookups only factory amp is being used,so I can only imagine if I did put an amp to these

Title: Solid, cheap woofer
Review: I initially purchased this woofer as a backup in case the factory woofer in my yamaha cab blew. When it eventually did, I tossed this guy in there and was very pleasantly surprised. Granted, it doesn’t have all of the oomph and low-end definition that maybe an eminence or JBL would carry, but at 30 dollars, I’d say it’s great, considering the investment. For audiophile sound, is this a choice? My answer is no. But being realistic, and saying that audiophile sound in a live audio application is relatively pointless, this is a great choice for a cheap backup. I assume time will tell how long this driver will last, but playing the past 2 months 5-9 gigs a week, this driver has performed well and sounded pretty good. If it blew tomorrow, I’ll have certainly got my money’s worth out of it.

Title: I suppose you really DO get what you pay for
Review: The replacement Pioneer woofers in my old Sansui speakers finally bit the dust – the foam surrounds disintegrated – so I ordered a pair of these as replacements. They looked well made and I figured modern magnet technology made super-massive magnets no longer necessary so I put aside my reservations and installed them. After replacing them I fired up the shop stereo and was extremely disappointed. I think, other than a bit of distortion, the worn-out Pioneers sounded a bit better than these new speakers! Maybe the difference is these speakers use “cloth suspension” instead of the previous speaker’s “foam suspension” as the cones move very stiffly. I get better bass from my Minimus 77 speakers (have 4″ woofers)! I will try a “break in” period to see if they limber up a bit and if not I will order the foam surround kits to repair my old Pioneers and put these out on the curb.

Title: AWESOME FOR THE PRICE
Review: These subwoofers are are a freaking steal for the price. I read the reviews before I purchased these but never expected them to be this good!. I dont know much about hooking up the sets or any thing like that but i know these are really slamming nice on my 2000 pyramid amp.My music dont disturb the peace or break out windows but it does a pretty awesome job for me. I can even feel the bass of the music on the driver seat and these are the only 2 subwoofers I have in my car.I think they are great! My husband started laughing when he saw how small the magnet was in the back of it. He was like ha ha these magnets are soo small….but he still went outside and connected it to his car system and he was like,’well-mud-o’ these carry on baby’ lol

Title: Ok
Review: I bought two of these to fix two very cheap monitor wedges. The wedges probably weren’t even worth fixing, but I didn’t mind spending so little on the main woofers. These were slightly larger than the speakers that were originally in my cabinets, but a sander fixed that problem.Keep in mind these are 500 watts PEAK, they can only take 250 watts RMS. For me, this was fine, the crossover and tweeter I put these with could only do 100 watts peak. For monitor wedges, they’re fine. Can’t really complain for the price. They sound OK, a lot better than the origonal Stage Works woofers. Might be good for a budget guitar amp… I wouldn’t want to use them for a bass amp or a sub. Monitor wedges, OK. Maybe if you’re on a tight budget you could use these in your mains, they’d be OK for a small gig.

Review: I didn’t realize until after I received it, that I am unable to install it into my existing speaker box. I removed my old 12 inch woofer and this new Pyle was not surface mountable. One needs to be able to open the speaker housing from the back, then screw in these Pyles from the inside of the speaker box. My old sub woofers were screwed into the speaker box from the outside. The box was glued together, so I had to cut a half inch diameter out of the opening of the box, then screw in the Pyles from the outside of the box. Lots of pain here.

Review: Bought these 12 inch woofers to replace the tired speakers in these cabinets . Sounds much better , not much excursion so don’t expect deep heavy bass. More of a mid punch . For 35 bucks each good enough .
