Customers say
Customers find the lens adapter works well with various cameras, particularly the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, and appreciate its solid metal construction. Moreover, the adapter receives positive feedback for its fit and lens mount, with one customer noting no play at all at the mount. However, the autofocus capability and ease of removal receive mixed reviews, with customers reporting that autofocus capability is lost and removal can be challenging. Additionally, the aperture control feature is missing.

Title: So smooth and good
Review: A nice little adapter for my olympus pen lite e-pl5 camera, it works very well with the two lenses a friend gave me, a sigma ef mount 70-300 mm lens made for canon and a canon 28-80 mm and a 28-105mm lens all in canons ef mount, i did notice on the 28-105 mm lens that oddly i had to mount the lens with the red dot in the reverse of the normal way you would mount a camera lens by lining up the red dot. A well machined adapter that is all metal and very solid and has no play at all at the lens mount, i definitely plan on getting other types of adapters in the future and i will definitely be looking at Fotodiox as my first choice.

Title: This is a nicely made adapter
Review: This is a nicely made adapter, and I’ve had zero problems with mine. To address the comments that the release mechanism is poor: I’d say Fotodiox is guilty only of underestimating users’ ham-fistedness. The little release simply slides rearward toward the camera mount, requiring a minimum of force. The lens or adapter should then be rotated off by holding onto the barrel, not by pushing sideways on the release itself.Works well. I have 2 of them in addition to one for C-mounts.

Title: Works perfectly
Review: I was a little hesitant to order this with a few commenters having trouble getting lenses off due to this little release lever causing problems. But the action of the lever seems totally intuitive and works flawlessly. Maybe just take a minute to look at the adapter and the lever before you start screwing lenses on. The adapter took my 50mm 1.8 and big ol’ Samyang 24mm beautifully. The other end screwed in perfectly to my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. Totally recommend this adapter. I will probably order a couple more for my other Canon lenses and just leave them attached until I shoot again with my Canon.

Title: Cannon EOS lens to Micro 4/3rds Camera
Review: I was able to adapt an 80-200mm Cannon Lens and a macro zoom lens that I had for an old EOS Rebel Film Camera so that I could use them on a Panasonic Micro 4/3rds Camera. The adapter mounts the lens to the camera, but as noted on the Fotodiox site it does not work in Automatic mode.To make it work one must set the camera to the “No Lens” mode through the “Custom” menu, which can only be reached on the camera if not in the “iA” mode. (At this time I cannot see any negative aspects of leaving it in the “no lens” mode even when using an automatic lens, but I will admit that I have not put the camera through all the paces with it in the no-lens mode. The instruction seem to suggest that this is only an override that defeats the internal switch that won’t allow the camera to take a pic without a lens it recognizes.)With this adapter all lens controls are manual, including focus, aperture, and of coarse, zoom, so don’t expect to slap on the lens, point and click. The 5 star rating considers the good quality of the adapter and the cheap price. For about 20 times the price one can get an adapter for certain lenses that will work in automatic modes. At that price I’d just consider getting a lens rather than an adapter. The Cannon Zoom lens is the only high zoom lens I have. The Canon Macro Zoom Lens did not give images that were as good as the Panasonic 14-42mm lens using a Fotodiox Extension tube, but this is a function of the lens, not the adapter.

Title: Works great, good quality
Review: I used these adapters on my Canon EF 70-200f/4L & 24-85f/3.5,4.5 zooms with an Olympus OM-D E-M5 body & a Panasonic GH-2 body on a recent trip to the Grand Tetons. I preset each lens to f/5.6 by holding the DOF Preview button on an EOS body while simultaneously removing the lens. The results were outstanding. The GH2 w/the 70-200 was used for tripod work and the 24-85 was used for handheld shots taking full advantage of the IS-1 mode on the OLY body.I have also used these same adapters with my Leica rangefinder lenses on these same cameras with superb results. Full focus to infinity, no play in lens mounting. Considering the low unit cost, it’s best to purchase one MFT adapter for each lens rather than constantly removing & remounting the same adapter every time you change focal lengths. This will serve to reduce the wear on the mounting pin (the one weak link in the chain). The proper way to mount these adapters is to use the same procedure as when mounting teleconverters & extension tubes: first mount the lens to the MFT adapter, then mount the lens w/adapter to the body. When removing the lens from the camera, be sure to remove the lens & MFT adapter as one unit. The inability to change f stops with Canon EF lenses and the weak lens removal pin keeps the rating at 4 stars. The ability to use your smaller, lighter Canon glass on MFT bodies tog with low unit cost makes this adapter a buy.

Title: Not bad quality
Review: I give this 3 stars because:1. price [star]2. good metal (not cheap plastic) adapter [star]3. fit well and does its job [star]4. workmanship [not a star]5. nerve wreck for my lens [not cool, 0 star here]HOW TO:The cool pyramid thing sticking out of the adapter is the release lever. You SLIDE/PUSH it toward ====> the camera and rotate to release the lens from this adapter.BROKEN RELEASE LEVER:There is a way to remove the adapter from the lens. I panicked when my pin broke off with my 50mm 1.4 in there. Turns out, this darn adapter looks better without the pin anyways :)…What I did was using something pointy (in my case, the tip of a scissor blade) and insert it into the hole where that darn level broke off. You will then push it toward the camera end. You will feel springy back and forth, so if you can get another person to hold on the lens, while you push and rotate the adapter, it will come off. I sweat over this just like you and now, i think i like the new look:)I’m happy with this “modification” to the adapter lol.OVERALL:It was quite an emotional ride there because I babied my lenses but in the end, “you get what you paid for”!! I’m happy with the purchase. They should improve the lever material to a flexible metal that won’t be easily snapped off.
