Title: Banned by TDCJ
Review: I ordered this without checking the TDCJ banned books. They say it was banned in 2010 so don’t purchase if you’re sending it to an inmate in Texas.

Title: calisthenics enthusiast
Review: Must agree with previous poster. Book has mostly descriptions of calistenics movements, methods, and some picture examples of individuals performing them in what looks to be a cell. Descriptions of conditiong exercises, and methods you probably haven’t seen before. No real set or rep guidelines. Book is hardcore and looks badass.

Title: A Real Look at Real Prison Fitness
Review: This is not for the 1 star viewers. Listen to them whine and moan about form and progression. This is realfitness for people that can do it. However most of the people that will buy it will give up because they aresoft and would rather feed in to other rip offs of what they think real fitness should be.

Title: Lacking
Review: To expand on what others have already stated…the book contains a good collection of bodyweight exercises. However, I found two main faults. 1) Most of the exercises are are described through text only, they don’t have pictures. This isn’t a big issue for someone that understands bodyweight exercises but represents a huge issue for a newbie. 2) There are not real routines. There is a small section that includes some circuit routines and then a section on “hardcore” routines that the author tells the reader not to use because they are too hard. Why include routines then tell the reader not to try them? Again, this is a huge issue for a newbie that doesn’t understand how to design routines. So, in a nutshell, if the author would go back and add photos for all of the exercises and then include a number of beginner and intermediate routines to get readers started this could actually be a real good book.

Title: This will work !!! Follow the guidelines!!!
Review: Coming from an inmate who personally worked out on a daily basis with Steve , you have no idea the mind set it takes to make that a commitment in one of the hardest times in your life , Steve was a good friend who knows his shit I gained a tone of muscle and weight from his knowledge and understanding for hard gainers , Steve site about 5’6” and mabye 145-155 lbs but he is a beast and I have nothing but respect for the gains I have made due to him, after 12 years I’m still doing the same routines and workouts and and as healthy and happy as anyone could be ! Thanks Steve !

Title: ❤️
Review: The reason it’s a book worth reading is because it comes from a very truthful person and his experience. And that alone is worth it to purchase. Mental health, body health. Are the two biggest factors in life. And when you feel down. May this be a reminder you have control of that. 10/10

Title: Kind of a disappointment.
Review: This book is one of many books available that focus on using your body as your gym. The concepts of books like this are great however this one was lacking something. The book is written rather poorly by a con turned personal trainer who, appearing by the way the book was written, is still doing time. There are many exercises listed but most have very basic explanations that can appear confusing to someone who has never really exercised. Also the author claims to give routines but they are truly lacking substance. The theories of doing body weight routines according to the author, is that they are mainly for conditioning (which is false). Body weight only routines can be used for gaining lean muscle, burning fat, endurance and overall well being. For someone looking for a great book on body weight exercises and routines I personally would pick up “You Are Your Own Gym” by Mark Lauren any day over this book.

Review: A nice source of bodyweight exercises and variations on them (667 push up variations) as well as some drills and circuits and advice on putting them together.A good book if you are looking to shake your own bodywweight routines up a bit,and enjoy this style of working out and conditioning. The cheap price makes it easily four stars for me because the content is greater than most other Calisthenic type training manuals and obviously its almost all stuff you can do in a small space with no equipment. Its a useful book to travel with.
