Title: A great refresher for adults
Review: This is such a good “refresher” for adults. While I remember the basics, there were a lot of little details I needed to review. Being able to start with pre-algebra before moving onto the algebra was such a good option. It’s easy to cover a lot of material quickly and you can skip around if some parts you already know. So glad I got this!

Title: yes! engaging, simple to understand, content laid out systematically
Review: I ordered 5-6 Algebra 1 review books for my student to use for practice & reinforcement before taking her final Algebra exam, and also to fill in gaps on topics her teacher didn’t cover. This is the best book of the lot! It is well laid out, engaging and interactive, the color schemes facilitate comprehension, and fits the bill in every way. It clearly lays out the need-to-know content, appropriately builds from one skill to the next, and provides a few practice problems with detailed explanations for each. The only topic I didn’t find it to cover is piece wise functions. There are some practice problems but not a ton. If you’re wanting repetition of lots of practice problems, this is not it.If you want to cover the material, ensure you have comprehension, and practice each topic, especially in an interactive and friendly format, then this is it. If you want to learn something that you missed or that the teacher didn’t cover, this is it. Don’t waste your money on the other books out there.

Title: A good reference book
Review: I am using this to help tutor my grandson in algebra. Since I don’t remember algebra, this has been very helpful in reteaching me also. It’s well written, very organized and presents the material in an easy to learn fashion. There’s also questions with answers. It’s a very good source for information. . I bought a copy for myself and then I also bought one for my grandson to use as a reference. The only book he has now is a workbook which stays at school. I would definitely buy this again.

Title: This could help kids learn
Review: I bought this book as a 36 year old who used to be great at math, and this book has shown me I have forgotten so many things! The lessons are brief, but I still could figure out harder problems where I wasn’t getting the correct answer on my own. Math just takes time to figure out in general. Patience is needed. Especially when it’s a new concept or something we don’t do every day. I could see this book being an assistant to middle schoolers/high schoolers who need the extra help. One thing I noticed is I did not do everything according to how the book teaches things. With math, there can be many different ways to solve a problem. This book just teaches one way per chapter which might not always be the easiest way depending on how we learn. It is a decent size book with over 600 pages. It gives a chapter, examples, and then problems for you to solve on your own per chapter with the answers on the next page. My only critique is that they only have the answers, not how to solve if you can’t figure it out.

Title: The cure to my math fear!
Review: Absolutely amazing book. I studied 30 years ago in middle school and this book helped me to refresh my memory. I was scared of algebra until I found this outstanding book. Now I love math thanks to this book.

Title: Easy to grasp and understand
Review: This book can be useful for understanding part of algebra 1, and can help explain the process in an easy way. Personally, as long as a workbook isn’t just a block of equations with no explanations, I can tolerate it, but this book helps at lot with my now newfound understanding of quadratics. Highly recommend.

Review: i love this series of book’s, My only issue is that there arent enough of them; they dont have algebra 2, calculus, physics, trigonometry, etc. These books generally have everything you’ll need to grasp the basics and build a solid foundation to move onto harder topics. The explanations are clear and concise, the topics gradually build on the previous ones, the diagrams are very easy on the eyes and the quality of the books themselves is nice but the cover is a bit flimsy and can crease. The book itself is a bit light on questions and doesn’t cover all of algebra 1 (and has zero trigonometry) but no book is perfect and for the price of this book, you can’t go wrong.
