Title: Great, creative game with simple rules
Review: I purchased this game as something to play at parties with my friends. Many of them are non-gamers so I wanted something that would be easy to pick up but still be engaging. Cult Following fit the bill perfectly! I was a little nervous how my friends would handle it since this is very much a talking game but everyone had a good time and even some of the shy folks took a stab at being cult leaders and created fun stories. Some of the combinations that you can create are just so wild and you get to see a lot of personality come out in your friends! We still talk about each others cults so it created some fun inside jokes as well.Examples of our cults after one night of gameplay: “A cult whose leader is a cactus with an extensive Twitter following that is trying to impersonate a human, if you join, you get your very own spaceship!”; “The rock banging cult where all recruits are given two rocks to bang together eternally with the hopes that they will discover spontaneous combustion.” “A cult that protests broadcasting stations of TV shows that were cancelled too soon (RIP Firefly)” , and “the bubble cult where every member is protected from an apocalypse caused by treatment-resistant bacteria by living within their very own bubble”Seriously, try this game!

Title: Hilarious
Review: Hilarious!! Even after playing the game (where you invent 2 cults and try to gain followers) we still talk about it weeks later. So much fun. Good for aged 13+ and those you can think creatively and somewhat quickly. Fast paced game which I love.

Title: SO much fun!
Review: This game is absolutely hilarious. I bought on a whim after seeing it my in ‘recommended’ options and had never heard of it before. I played it for the first time with some friends the other day and everyone loved it!! My friend who is a high school drama teacher asked to borrow the game for his class as it’s a great improvisation game. Although I’m sure anyone would enjoy this, it really suits people who can think quickly on their feet and have a great imagination. You’ll be laughing about the cults you made for weeks after! Highly recommend.

Title: Improve hilarity for gamers who like cards against humanity and red flags
Review: I purchased this for one of my friends at Christmas time. She is in college and I find giving her games are an awesome present that she can use while away and doesn’t take up that much room. The game is really fun! Basically two or more people become cult leaders, and draw cards that develop the traits of their cult. There is usually a problem the cult is trying to solve and they become very fun and playable. One cult was after the monkey revolution had happened and we were trying to stop the monkeys from taking over so we used temporary amnesia drugs to make the monkeys continually forget their plans to take over. We also started putting the cults against each other, one cult existed in a world where the laws of gravity had broken down. My cult used that to discredit that cult by saying the other cult leader was high on lsd. Then then we get to the followers. The followers draw a question card to pose to the cults, like how do you stop people from leaving or what are your daily routines, they allow the cult leaders to expand the cult and have fun. We usually let the followers ask any questions they think of as well, it just adds humor. I love this game and it’s playable with as little as 3 players, but is better the more people play. My friend group loves games like cards against humanity, joking hazard, red flags, superfight…. and this game is so fun if you like that type of game. You definitely have to be able to talk and be improvisational, and this is just a fun game to play! We all really enjoyed the game, but more so we have a bunch of inside jokes based on the game so even when we don’t play it, the game is now a part of our hangouts.

Title: A great game that just gets funnier
Review: I discovered this game because the expansions are on Kickstarter, I had to investigate this game as soon as possible and let me tell you it killed. We played it for hours and now I’m oblagationally bound by several friends to bring it to upcoming events this summer. We definitely added some drinking rules when playing it with just adults but the game was still fun when playing with all ages. The only downside is that now we’re desperate for those expansion packs that we originally saw on Kickstarter but that’s just because we can’t get enough of this game. One of the best things is the more you play the more comfortable and quick you become on creating cults and the funnier it becomes.
