Title: AMAZING find!
Review: Weeks later, we are still taking about the incredible Chicken with figs meal we first tried! Prepare to be touted as a gourmet chef! A tower of taste sensations! And the book is a beautiful visually, too- we have ours displayed on a kitchen countertop stand! Superbly inspirational photos!

Review: I visited this restaurant, and I was amazed with the food – so unique and fresh. I found the cookbook on line when I returned. It is an amazing way to capture the restaurant and experience it over and over. The photography is outstanding, and there are lots of stories around the recipes and the restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Review: I’m head over heels in love with Malibu Farm Cafe and Restaurant. A meal at the Malibu Pier is my definition of paradise. Thankfully, a lot of the recipes are documented in The Malibu Farm Cookbook. The book provides a look at Helene Henderson’s life and the evolution from caterer to farmer to dinner host to private chef to restaurant owner. The food style is local, fresh, and laid back. Review: I was so delighted by the simplicity and casual tone of this book that I have gone through and cooked almost every recipe, in order. There are a few game changers – the pearled couscous corn salad is a standout – but mostly it’s just fresh California vibes for summer

Title: Excellent, charming cookbook!
Review: This is a charming cookbook. The author is a wonderful storyteller: her Malibu is “where goats are beach bums…” and she provides the photo to prove it. If you’re into honey or goats, you will absolutely love this book, because her writing about honey and beekeeping, as well as goats and goat-cheese-making, is not only delightful but I hope useful to those just getting started. Not to mention keeping chickens or pigs! Most of her recipes and ingredients are simple and accessible, and her veggie and seafood recipes are lovely. For those who live on a coast, especially the left one, or have access to excellent seafood, I’m pretty sure that you’d absolutely love this book. The veggie recipes are excellent. I also love that she’s not a pastry snob: she buys her bread from a local artisan. However, although she says that the pastry recipes in the book are all “mix and pour,” that’s not exactly correct: panna cotta and caramel sauce do require a bit more technique than “mix and pour,” however, they’re still possible even for the first-timer, and she provides adequate instructions that one hopes will get us through the recipe. A charming, endearing, and useful cookbook! Kindle format review: 5 stars: Clickable index, clickable embedded recipes, and chickable TOC (although only to chapter titles, not recipes therein).

Title: Beautiful Photos, Delicious Recipes, and Coffee-Table Worthy Quality
Review: I love this cookbook, every recipe we’ve made so far as been a huge success. The book is coffee-table worthy with hundreds of pages and beautiful photos of food and scenes from malibu. Malibu Farm was one of my favorite restaurants when I lived in CA, I’m so happy to keep a piece of it with me through this cookbook.
