Title: Covers fall off
Review: Driving down the road and both covers popped off while driving. One is lost on the road somewhere, the other one was still in my engine compartment. If I had hit another bump in the road, it would have been lost as well. Now I have no protection over my connections. NOT HAPPY with this product. Good idea but poor design. The covers should be screwed in place instead of being pinched so the little tabs lock into the grooves of the base.Amazon will not refund since I no longer have all the pieces.

Review: I bought and installed 4 of these for an inverter system I build. Unfortunately, I found several issues with them.1 – Ended up removing them as they created too much heat when running even half the typical current – they got VERY hot and that heat travelled into the cables getting them too hot as well. Changing to a different fuse holder eliminated the heat problem.2 – Quality material I think is the problem with the heat – I’m not sure what material this is made out of (under the coating) but it obviously doesn’t conduct electricity very well.3 – Poor design. The most ridiculous issue is that they placed the screw mounting holes UNDER the cable entry. In other words you MUST mount the holder before you can attach any cables to it which is a huge problem with this type of cable attachment. Anyone who’s used this type of connection with large cables like these knows you usually need to rotate the fuse holder around at angles to gently guide all the wire strands into the hole (it’s a naturally/purposeful tight fit), but being forced to mount it first makes that impossible. The screw mounting holes could easily have been moved to the corners of the holder to prevent this issue. For all these reasons I strongly recommend against purchasing these fuse holders. The only situation I might use them would be in a lower power vehicle audio system as a fuse for the amps or system where the current draw will average a low value (despite high peaks), and maybe you mount it with some double-sided tape or similar. Other than that, avoid.
