Title: 1 year review. (With update)
Review: (UPDATE). Vendor went above and beyond to contact me directly in regards to my complaint. I’m doing so they provided an upgraded version free of cost. The upgraded version is far superior on all fronts. I must admit, I have only been using the new one for a few weeks. Given this, I will provide an additional review on the updated version in one years time. The IR works well to about 40 yds with decent clarity. You can still view and determine what a critter is well beyond that also though the image becomes granulated. That’s normal.Takes 8 AA batteries. This is relevant because batteries are not cheap, additionally the quality of battery will have a major impact on the device and it’s effectiveness or longevity in colder regions. The annoying problem- the Date/Time stamp is obnoxious. The real problem- the battery compartment does not effectively seal against moisture. The unprecedented rate at which the spring contacts has rusted to the point of failure and detachment is a serious issue. One camera has become completely unusable, the second is on its way out the door. There isn’t a reasonable method to remove and replace the contacts, and their condition is worse than expected assuming you’ve unintentionally trapped humid air within the compartment upon sealing it.The price is tempting. This product is perfect for monitoring a sizeable property, it’s entrences, or it’s large/small game provided you have short term goals. However, a lazy man works twice and a sucker spends twice as much-I wouldn’t put any long term faith into this product.

Title: Great for pest animal identification and movements
Review: Don’t expect to make great large prints for your walls with this inexpensive trail camera. I use it mainly in video mode to track animal pests around my garden and my house and it is great for that. Last year the woodchucks were getting through my vegetable garden fence and eating my strawberries just before they got ripe. They would not go in my trap and I did not know how they got through the fence. Trail camera to the rescue! I soon discovered where they got under the fence and put my trap there and eventually caught them all. See the video.Similar story with mice that we heard chewing inside the walls of our house. I set out the traps baited with peanut butter and cheese and didn’t catch any. Then I set up the trail cameras and saw them running around the traps set along the wall! So I needed better bait. I put a few drops of almond extract over the existing bait and caught 3 of them that night. It is fun to see what animals come to carrion. A dead deer on our property attracted fox, coyotes, eagles, owls, opossums, racoons, and vultures. Night vision works fine for identification.Video high resolution mode works best for these cameras. They trigger very well on animals, even a small mouse 10 feet from the camera or a squirrel 50 feet away. The main problem is if there are wind-blown bushes or trees in the near field of view, the camera triggers too often. It still doesn’t fill up a 32 GB memory card, but takes your time looking through all the videos for one you are interested in.To speed-watch through the videos in my windows computer, I first select all (ctrl-A) then right click on the top one and select Play to view in Windows Media Player. If I don’t see an animal in the first second or two, I click on Next. With a card reader on an iPhone, you can swipe to the next one to quickly look for good ones.Every time I put back the memory card, I format to erase the card as follows: Insert it with camera off, turn to aim mode, click OK 11 times, press arrow key to format “yes”, press ok, wait for it, then turn on, close the door, and aim.Usually there is not a tree or post in the right place to strap up the camera, and it is very hard to get it aimed that way. Therefore, I made some quick camera stands as shown in the photo. The base is painted 16×16 inch plywood and the 32 inch metal conduit pipe is placed into a hole in a piece of 2×4 screwed to the plywood, with a drywall screw from the side to anchor it in place. The brick keeps it from blowing over in the wind. The top of the pipe has a dowel pressed into it with a hole for the ball mount provided with the camera. I also made a magnetic mount for my van to use when camping. After three years of use one of the cameras’ processor froze up. I reported this to wosports.com and they sent me a replacement. Very good customer service.

Title: why equip a camera with a red light to draw the attention ??
Review: why equip a camera with a RED LIGHT during recording. An error in developing this product. A bright red light is drawing the attention of the animal or person [!] that is filmed during a secretive recording. you can NOT use this camera as a security-cam.in addition to this warning: this camera does not provide the possibility of locking it with a padlock. so people who are recorded and were alerted by the red light are able to open the camera and steal the memory-card [and the prove of their action].in general this is a good camera, so when you want to use it as a wild cam, yes, it provides you with quality.

Title: Camera 1 star! Company 5 star!
Review: This is by far the worst trail cam i’ve ever owned. I’ve legit watched deer walk in front of the camera and not one pic taken! If it did take a picture it was completely blurred out. As a matter of fact, the only pictures i’ve seen is my own face as i’m pulling the SD card out. Which brings me to my next complaint. There is no way to tell if you even have a picture on this camera until you take the SD card out and put it in a reader.? I bought cheaper cameras than this that worked a hundred times better. They at least have a monitor where you can check your pics without taking the SD card out first. Just a waste of money. If I could return these I absolutely would. Don’t waste The aggravation or money on this trail cam. Update/ I’m giving a 5 star to the company! They immediately reached out to me to fix the problem. They actually went way above and beyond for me. You should absolutely shop worry free with this company!
