Title: Brickman’s Latest A Letdown
Review: Jim Brickman’s latest CD, Valentine, is a letdown as well as a departure from his past efforts. His choice of vocalists ruins and roughens the treatment of his beautiful songs. I would have preferred him singing the songs himself than the harsh vocalists he uses on this CD. The title track “Valentine” is so harch in this iteration. If one bought the sweet and nearly etheral sounding past CDs that were so romantic, this one is harsh….don’t want to play most of the selections compared to playing his past releases over and over again!

Title: Another Great Album by Jim Brickman
Review: This CD was great! I love it! Just because some of the songs are old and he revisited them doesn’t mean a thing. Hearing the old songs in a new way is great because it makes you want to hear the old versions so you get out your old cds and are listening to them again. Don’t you think that might have been what he wanted? Anyways even if you are new to his music don’t dismiss this cd just because of some bad reviews. Get it from the library first and see if you like it. It’s well worth a listen. I have everyone of Jim’s CDs and truthfully I like this one better than some of his other ones. So to end this review don’t listen the bad reviews listen to it for yourself and then form your opinion of it. The music is very beautiful and I would reccomend it to anyone.

Title: Still hasn’t arrived
Review: I ordered two music CDs on 8 Jan 08 and it’s 9 Feb 08 and they still haven’t arrived. I would think they’ll be very good and I’ll enjoy them a lot, which is why I ordered them, but can’t be sure because they aren’t here yet. I would like to say I’m patiently waiting, but that’s getting more and more difficult to say.

Review: Jim Brickman just never gets old (literally and figuratively)! I have many CD’s of his already, and I will probably buy any CD he ever puts out for the rest of my life. Whether I’m busy and stressed out at work, or taking a long drive, he’s where I go to in my “music library”.

Title: An incredible compilation
Review: I had worked in the music store before, and Jim Brickman was one of those artists where you wondered about – like “Is he that popular? What’s his music like?” So on a whim I bought The Gift” because I have heard that Collin Raye song and thought it was great! So I had a chance to get Valentine compilation, and this “Greatest Hits So Far” type CD compilation from him was absolutely awesome! It has the songs which he is known for (his songs have become a staple for adult-contemporary radio stations) like Valentine, The Gift, Love of My Life, etc. My wife and I enjoyed his music so much we’re in the process of picking up his other works just because it’s wonderful to listen to, or provide background sound while I work. Just a great, romantic CD…

Review: Zugegeben, anfangs war ich Jim Brickman gegenüber sehr sehr skeptisch. Ich vermutete einen dieser amerikanischen Schmalzschmusesänger… doch der Reihe nach. Aufmarksam auf die Musik von Jim Brickman wurde ich durch den genialen Radiosender “KlassikRadio”. Ständig wurden Lieder der CD “Valentine” im laufenden Programm gespielt. Vor allem bei “Freedom” ging mir im wahrsten Sinne das Herz auf. Es war nun ein kleiner Schritt herauszufinden, wer da so virtuos auf dem elektrischen Klavier gespielt hat – nämlich besagter Jim Brickman, von dem ich bis dato noch nie etwas gehört hatte. Als ich die CD dann das erste Mal hörte, war es um mich geschehen und ich verstand, warum Jim Brickman in USA und Asien schon ein gefeierter Star ist. Er macht einfach traumhafte Musik. Musik zum Abschalten, Musik zum Entspannen, Musik zum Vergessen des Alltags. Ich kann die CD “Valentine” wirklich jedem empfehlen, der etwas für romantische Musik (ohne dabei kitschig zu wirken) übrig hat. Selbst als Mann wird man bei diesen Klängen butterweich und ich vermute und hoffe, dass Jim Brickman auch in Europa das wird, was er längst schon ist; ein stiller Star mit gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanz viel Gefühl. Meine Note für diese CD: 1
