Title: Buy this!
Review: I was expecting a giant-sized checker/chess/backgammon board, but it was only standard/Olympic size when it arrived. To be honest, I’ve never even played backgammon, and I didn’t actually read the description so the size mistake is my fault. The board and pieces are very easy to set up and play, and honestly, despite it’s being only standard/Olympic-sized , it’s a lot of fun for the students that get to play with it, they play on it all the time. Now that I think about it, the size of these kids is pretty small, and the board looks huge, so everybody wins.

Title: Three classic games
Review: I’m impressed that this item only took 2 weeks to arrive in NZ! The game box had been placed inside a thick protective brown paper bag and arrived in almost perfect condition apart from a slight dent underneath. The box itself is made of quite thin cardboard. Thinner than game boxes normally are. The game board is ok but but thinner than usual and the join line where the board folds in half is very thin and can see it’s a white line (I used black Acrylic paint to hide the white centre join line but a permanent black marker would probably work too). The plastic chess pieces feel light and are hollow but ok (you could probably fill them with something to help add weight eg, use clay that goes hard in oven or air dry clay & glue inside chess pawns?). The plastic checkers/backgammon tokens and x2 dice are good. It’s still a good set but because I live so far & shipping is expensive for me, it’s not as worth it as it would be if you lived closer. Still fun games. Thanks

Title: Get what you pay for.
Review: I bought it because it was cheap. The board is low quality and flimsy. The board is not very stable as it doesn’t want to lay flat. The materials for the pieces are cheap plastic. The size was what I expected. It was not missing any pieces.

Title: Cheap set and very cheap game board, not intended for long-term usage
Review: The original price point on this game set was very low, and it was very low for a good reason. The pieces are all very lightweight and thin, and the chess pieces fall over easily. The game board itself was the most disappointing; it is a very thin piece of cardboard with glued edging. No doubt, it will start coming apart very quickly. The checker pieces are grooved and interlock well when stacking, which is nice. Originally, the price was $5 but now has jumped to almost $9 – it is not worth it at the higher price point value-wise. Even at the lower price, one has to consider if paying 2-3x more for something that will last considerably longer is the better value; my answer to that is absolutely.
