Title: Five Stars for the film, however
Review: Cannot believe Arnault paid what he did for all those exquisite flowers for a prima donna who thankfully is long gone from DIOR. So many “beautiful people” who are NOT beautiful sitting in the front row watching walking sticks wearing derivative DIOR designs…but that pseudo Army Camo fabric created for The Emperor’s New Clothes…listen you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool a New Yorker. Good thing Christian Dior was not around to see such desecration of his Ateliers.

Title: I do love art though and this was like watching the same …
Review: I don’t know beans about fashion. I had to google “haute couture” to see what the heck they kept talking about. I do love art though and this was like watching the same thing that a painter or photographer might go through before a huge show. It was really interesting to see how these dresses and outfits come together, and how they get tweaked before the final show. I also really enjoyed all the music throughout this one. I may have to read the Dior book to learn more. Like some other folks said, it maybe could have been even longer with more background history.

Title: Ode to staff at Christian Dior, oh and the designer too.
Review: I loved it. It bought insight into the world of the fashion house and the relationships with the real people that work with the prominent designers. Raf is interesting because he isn’t French yet you evolve with him and rather see him becoming French by the end of the documentary. Awesome for anyone who wants to know what it’s like. It’s not as sexy and sultry as one might think. It’s artistic and it’s about relationships and some struggle as well. This focus was not on the woman — but the dress, the fashiohouse and the actual employees that we normally don’t get to know or even hear about……everyone who watched it with me LOVED it.

Title: Disappointed as I’ve always been made aware before purchasing

Title: Interesting but flawed
Review: The concept of going behind the scenes to watch what it takes to pull together a collection was excellent. The execution of the film was decent, but had a few flaws. The subtitles were done in white lettering and were often difficult to read because of the white or light background they were imposed on. That seemed like an issue that could easily have been remedied but was overlooked by the film maker, and took away from the experience. It was difficult to switch back and forth so quickly and so often between English speakers, then French, Italian and Dutch (I believe) all with subtitles. Still, an interesting peek into a world that exists in its own fabulous bubble.

Title: Very well made
Review: Loved this documentary and was inspired to buy the Dior by Dior autobiography as well that just got released (also good). Both are really fantastic. What inspired me were the ladies that made the dresses, their absolute dedication and passion to the art of haute couture. I bought some Christian Dior eye shadow that came out when the very same debut collection came out that was in the documentary so it was a lot of fun to see the artistic influences that went into that collection for that year. Its a real treat at the end of the movie seeing the gorgeous floral extravaganza on the runway with the very Dior inspired dresses.
