Title: Really cool.
Review: This turned out to be really cool. If you feel like playing a board game, but don’t really have anyone to play with, this is a fantastic board game you play by yourself, which will be different every time you play. You play as a plague doctor who goes through the land trying to accomplish tasks (such as defeating enemies, curing villages of the plague, acquiring items and so on), with the ultimate goal of building up your strength to engage and fight the final boss. Will you play it safe and just go straight for the boss, or take your time, take risks, and try to rack up points to see how well you can do?The game itself is “easy enough” to learn, meaning that it’s definitely not ultra simple, but also not the most complicated ruleset I’ve ever learned. One thing I will mention about the rules is that you may need to reference external sources in some situations. (For example, I referred to boardgamegeek dot com.) The problem is the are a couple minor details in the rules that are not entirely clear – those kind of situations you might not run into often, but wouldn’t be sure which rule applied when you do. Also, it is possible to run into a situation in which your character gets “stuck” in the dynamic map, so the creators of the board game released a supplemental set of rules (posted on that boardgamegeek website) for what to do if that happens… when I bought the game, those supplemental rules were NOT included with the game. I just had to find them on the internet. This inconvenience, however, does not take away from the fun I have with this game. The materials are quality – not just cheapy junk. And there are a LOT of materials! (markers/tokens, item cards, enemy cards, character cards, map tiles, quest cards, dice, all kinds of stuff). Art and theme are very nice. Rules (except for the couple minor hitches already mentioned) make for fun and dynamic play, in which each play through will be a little different – including comprehensive rules on how enemies will spawn, move, attack, and so on.Overall I’m very impressed and would recommend this to anyone looking for a solo adventure that takes anywhere from half an hour to an hour. (I would think maybe 12 or 13 and up would be good ages for this game.)

Title: Great Solo Game
Review: I totally enjoyed this game. It’s one of my favorite solos. I appreciate that the creator published an errata to resolve a movement issue. It’s not a quick 10 minute game. Plays great! Theme is spot on!!!

Title: Its okay..
Review: First things first you will not know how to play the game without a video I suggest the dungeon dive on youtube to learn how to play and make sure you watch any video before buying because it has.. problems..

Title: Had potential, but is flawed
Review: My first playthrough ended only 5 rounds in because the map mechanic failed to generate any new avenues to explore. This means no new obtainable quest markers, and progression just becomes impossible. The game is highly chance-based, which is fine. But I promise it does not feel good to learn, set up, and play a game only to be defeated in Act I by the game’s own exploration mechanics. There are confusing rules as well. Is attacking an optional action, or mandatory? Both are indicated in the text. I feel bad, because I wanted to like it. It seemed like it had potential. The components are good. The art is above average. But the rules could use a rework to make things more interesting and less broken.
