Title: Goldfinch Drones
Review: Too many abrevations-too much tech. I found it a slow read. Such odd names for the characters that it was hard to keep up with them and follow their position in the story. Certainly not one of my favorite reads.

Title: Sure to please any reader!
Review: Dynamic, gripping, couldn’t, put it down. Cyrus Paul has crafted a tale of intrigue, action and suspense with believable technology applications. More than just an action suspense novel, it is a tale of family and a special bonding only brothers can share. Looking forward to the sequel !

Title: WAY Too Much Exposition
Review: The first 11 chapters (at least) of this book are dedicated to detailed, lengthy character introductions. One character per chapter, lots of detailed telling of background, family ties etc. with very little plot progress and less action. This level of detail for this many characters was just mind-numbing and frustrating. Despite the author’s command of the language (good style, if a bit formal, even if its not great writing structurally – so I’m giving three stars), I just felt that at 25% in, surely the introductions should have come to an end? I gave up and counted this one as a DNF (did not finish) unfortunately.

Title: So when’s the movie?
Review: Great book. Couldn’t stop thinking about some hollywood superstars playing this on the big screen. The insect drones are particularly problematic for me getting a good night’s sleep these days. Well written, great suspense, and BTW Never cry WOLFE!!!!!

Title: Kept Me On Edge
Review: Cyrus Paul’s suspenseful thriller kept me on the edge of my seat. The book starts off with great intrigue to draw you in (and except for a span of a few early chapters that give you the necessary background information that sometimes can be less exciting)the writing keeps a good hold on the reader. The author spins a tale that allows you to connect with the characters and become emotionally invested in them and their outcomes. There can at times be some difficulties for the reader due to technological terms bogging down the pace of the book for those less tech savvy, but in general, it quickly becomes a page turner that will keep you on your toes with twists and turns of events and have you looking at the birds in your feeder and insects in your house a little more suspect than usual.I definitely recommend this book!

Title: Eerily Orwellian!
Review: Although set in 2051, Goldfinch Drones captures many of the nascent political, moral and ethical problems which will face our society. In fact, this book is a reminder that the societal decisions we make today – data mining, privacy, Constitutional interpretations – will have a profound impact on future generations. Power, pride, position – nothing new under the sun, but Cyrus Paul weaves them into a believable futuristic framework that tears at your nerves. Intelligent writing at the core, Goldfinch Drones also manages to weave our human struggle with relationship, family and spirituality into a core morality play. Great effort; when can we expect the sequel?
