Title: Great seller, amazing movie!
Review: Was advertised as factory refurbished and appeared to have some blemishes on the optical side, so I immediately stuck it in my laptop DVD drive to confirm operation. Not only did it play perfectly, but I became so intensely involved in the movie itself I couldn’t tear myself away from it for 50 minutes, when other pressing business intruded.This is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. I’ve checked reviews and some describe it as “an outsider’s view of India,” but it was recommended to my by an Indian friend and I think every American should watch it so they can appreciate what they have.

Title: Life Affirming and Life Changing Film
Review: While I gave this movie 5 stars for it’s critical achievements it was a very difficult movie for me to watch. Seeing the abject poverty of the people and the cruelty with which the central character was treated were painful for me to witness.But, I loved the technique of using the interrogation over the winning of the Millionaire program to reveal flashbacks of how he came to know the answers and the difficult life lessons that he learned them through!Dev Patel was relatively new on the scene when this movie came out, but has since proven himself to be able to carry a movie. He is very likeable and very easy to watch on screen. Overall, the movie is very life affirming and shows the strength in the human spirit.

Title: Storytelling Excellence
Review: I was so intrigued by this tightly woven tale that I got the book on which it is based, Q&A, which was, as is usually the case, a slightly different story. They are both wrought with excellence in the art of storytelling, and together provide a distinctly unromantic look at some of the subcultures of India today and how they relate to one another. I learned things I didn’t know – didn’t want to know – and have been pondering this portrait of humanity ever since. It speaks to the quality of acting that I was completely drawn into the drama. Dev Patel delivers a convincing character who is endearing in the face of horrifying circumstances.

Title: Three Musketeers – It Is Written
Review: Great movie that I wanted to share with my daughter. Love this story of how one boy’s act of kindness developed into one of endless love with a fantastic plot centered on the Indian version of the television game show, “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.” Interesting and often sad backdrop of Indian poverty and how the characters struggles to survive and find their place in society. Not to give anything away from this Academy Award winning film, well worth the watch. BTW – my daughter thoroughly enjoyed it.
