Title: Hidden gem from Roy Orbison!
Review: I don’t think many people know about this CD actually. And it’s not that strange really. First of all, how many artists do you know about who after having 20 something hits in the 60’s went into the recording studio in 1985 to re-record all those songs? None other that I know of. And I just found out myself. When looking for Roy Orbison songs online I struggled finding the versions I remembered from my mother’s old casette. After a lot of searching I found out that Roy had re-recorded his songs and that that was the versions I remember and love. Yes, I guess the originals were good but these re-recordings have such good sound. They sound like the originals but better! It’s actually a shame that these songs were released on “just another best-of-album”. Like I mentioned many people just passed this by because they thought they already had those songs. But they would be wrong. The album should have had a different title, something to make people understand what was going on. Anyway, now after reading this you do. So now you know that you can buy this album and enjoy the new and vibrant versions of old Orbison classics!

Title: Roy Orbison The Voice of Perfection
Review: Roy Orbison was easy to listen to and many tried to copy these amazing songs. From Oh Pretty Woman, to Ooby Dooby and Running Scared, the Man had talent and it oozes out of each song. LANA is the song. If you do not know it, look it up. LANA is Roy Orbison, the Voice.

Title: Shipper did a great job but think the CD isn’t the best quality
Review: I received the CD quickly and in good shape. I was disappointed with the sound quality. Maybe it is my speaker but have another of Roy’s CDs and it sounds better.

Title: Raves for Roy
Review: As much as I love “the originals,” these re-recordings are phenomenal! Roy’s voice is as great as ever, the arrangements are faithful to the originals, and the technology and sound are vastly superior! Can you discern a difference between these new recordings and the originals? Of course you can! In this case, different doesn’t mean inferior. As always, Orbison is the true original!

Review: Well, Orbison is right up there at the pinnacle of late 20th Century artists. Everything about his work is magnificent! This is a high quality recording covering most of his better known hits and is as fresh as it was 30 or 40 years ago!

Review: Interesting collection of RE-RECORDED versions of his many hits. Good stuff for what it is, but these songs are not the original versions. Probably more for completists. Excellent sound and production. (There are two versions, the earlier version on Virgin Records and a later version, same material with a black and white photo.)

Review: The man was a genius and ahead of his time. These are his original hits from the fifties and sixties which he re recorded due to some legal reason I think. They sound BETTER than the original recordings. Essential.
