Title: Challenging fun!
Review: I bought this original version mainly because I was afraid that newer versions would include a bunch of pop culture questions that I don’t care for. The item arrived in unbelievable condition (I ordered it “used” from seller nouveaudepart). Seriously, other than some heavy wear on the box, the game was in brand new condition. It was even shrink wrapped. I’m fairly certain this game was never even opened, much less played; an amazing find for a game that is 30 years old!As for the gameplay itself, it has not really changed over the years (at least compared to other variants of Trivial Pursuit that I have played). You move around the board, answer trivia questions, and try to complete your piece by collecting pie wedges of each of the six colors. As long as you keep getting answers correct, you get to keep your turn going. Once you have all six pie slices, you return to the center ‘hub’ and answer a question from a category of your opponent’s choosing to win the game. It’s very simple in theory, but in practice is very challenging. One of the aspects that makes Trivial Pursuit so great is that it is not purely about the trivia knowledge. There is an element of strategy to the way you move your piece around the board. Figuring out the most efficient way to move in order to collect all the wedges is a fun challenge too.One caveat I feel compelled to mention: the trivia questions in this game are HARD. Like, really difficult. I played with my girlfriend, and we are both fairly knowledgeable people. I usually know the answers to most questions on Jeopardy, and she has her MA and is very well-read. Even still, we would go through stretches of as many as five or six turns in a row where we couldn’t answer a question correctly. The most difficult category was entertainment. We were both born around the time this game was made, so for us the entertainment questions were lost in obscurity. Middle-aged people and older may have an easier time with that category, as they will have probably experienced firsthand the movies, music, and shows that the questions ask about. The easiest questions for us were the geography ones. I quickly learned to always land on a blue space if I had a chance, because we routinely nailed those. Science & Nature was also relatively easy. I consider myself a history buff, but I had serious problems with the history questions. I’d say they were pretty difficult overall. Sports was fairly difficult (a lot of questions about specific athletes in specific years of the Olympics; “Who won gold medal in such-and-such event in such-and-such year?” etc.). I found Art & Literature to be on par with entertainment for difficulty, but only because I’m not very knowledgeable in those fields. My MA girlfriend breezed through most of those questions.Overall, playing this game has been a very fun and very challenging experience. I wouldn’t recommend playing this for anybody under the age of 35 who doesn’t consider themselves to be a major trivia buff, though, as the questions are too difficult for many people and they would grow bored very quickly of constantly answering “Uh I have no idea.” For trivia buffs or people approaching middle age or older, this game will provide many hours of great, mentally stimulating fun!

Title: Love this game — 80s classic
Review: As a woman in my early 20s, I can say that this is one of my all-time favorite games. The questions range from ridiculously easy to ridiculously dated. I used to play with my family growing up, which was not at all enjoyable. However, my house in college had a copy and we quickly realized that with two small modifications, Trivial Pursuit makes an excellent party game. The first key is to break into pairs, so that the game goes twice as fast. It also adds a drama component, as I have seen friendships made and broken over trying to cooperate to guess the right answer to get a pie piece.Second, add some drinking rules. Favorites include drinking every time your team wins a pie piece, or drinking every time your team gives the wrong answer on the first question of your turn. With a few house rules, this game becomes very enjoyable even for a group of people born long after it was published. Trivial Pursuit will always be a staple of my board game collection.

Title: I am giving it 3 starts only because I love the game
Review: I am giving it 3 starts only because I love the game. The set I received was greatly worn. I expected some wear because it is an older set and I figured it was used – but I also didn’t expect to have some extra pie pieces and missing two of the actual game pawns (pie holders). All the cards were present, or at least appear to be, so that was good.Summary: Don’t expect a new-ish looking game and definitely not all the parts.

Title: I ordered one through Amazon and was very pleased to receive a brand new game
Review: We played this game all through the 80’s and nineties. .. somehow lost. .I ordered one through Amazon and was very pleased to receive a brand new game. . Never opened. . We ‘ve played everyday since even if we just read the questions to each other. We’ve always made it a point to never cheat and always cover the answers. Keeps it honest and quite hysterically funny as everyone always thinks they know the right answer and lots of yelling and laughing ensues. If you’re a baby boomer…this is a must have!

Title: The younger, underemployed set will enjoy beating the Boomers at this game.
Review: Millenials and Generation X-ers will love this. Boomers will find themselves outclassed. They may win the history questions, but “Insane Clown Posse” will stump them every time. It’s still fun for multi-generational players though because much laughter ensues even when Boomers lose. It’s okay. We’ve won everything else and left the Millenials and the Generation X-ers in a shambles, so they should be able to win a game without prizes, right?

Title: Like many before me
Review: The picture shows a game still in its wrapper, however the one I received was excessively taped closed, clearly used, and no longer suitable for gift giving. It did, however, arrive sooner than expected. Like many before me, I should have read the other reviews first. Totally not worth the money.

Title: Trivial Pursuit
Review: This has been one of our families all time favorite games since it came out. A couple of weeks ago my son who now lives on the left coast. and we live on the Eastern Coast, was looking to purchase it for his family and friends. He went to several local stores with no luck. I looked here and didn’t find it. I told him I would mail him ours, however, when I looked for it to mail to him I realized I must have donated it to someone when we downsized to a smaller house. I looked for it here at our local stores, but didn’t find it. The place I always go for things I can’t find is Amazon. It will actually be a family Christmas present for him and his young family. I hope he and his family and friends enjoy it as much we did with him and our friends when he was growing up. Thanks.

Review: I bought the game for myself and boyfriend with a very open mind as the description said it had slight damage I did wonder wether all the pieces would arrive. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that not only were all the pieces there but all sealed and perfect condition apart from the outer box that had minimal damage that did not effect the game 😁
