A quick rundown of this product’s key features:
Your Goal… to win all cards by round six. You will do this by playing the highest card but when a tie occurs a battle will happen to decide the victor and knowing when to play that tomato card can make the difference in losing the battle but winning the war! The battles can get intense and use a lot cards, it is possible that someone could get all the cards before round six, if this happens they are the winner and the game is over!
What is Fruit War…is the classic game of war but with revised rules to make the game play faster and the battles much bigger! There are twelve unique fruit and vegetable character designs, that make the game visually appealing and more fun. All the excitement happens when the fruit characters battle hence the name Fruit War.
High Card Wins…remember this rule and you are sure to have a blast with friends and family. You keeping flipping cards until there is a clear high card winner. The fruit characters are wild and more and more of them come into play as the game progresses…so the battles become larger and larger.

But be prepared the more people the crazier it gets. This makes Fruit War the perfect birthday gift, Christmas gift or stocking stuffer, heck why not include it as an Easter gift.

Review: We play non stop. He loves card games and the classics war and speed. This game takes on a new twist to war. The cards are well made, sturdy, durable and brightly colored. We have so much fun playing this game I’d buy it over and over and recommend it to everyone who loves a good quick card game. It’s priced super cheap for endless amounts of fun.

Title: Love this game
Review: I teach a life skills class and on Fridays we have a “social hour” where we practice turn taking and comprehension from playing various kinds of games. This game has become a new favorite in my classroom! It’s simple enough that the students can quickly pick up how to play. They love the extra chances to win by playing a tomato card. It’s been so fun! I’ll have to order a couple more so that more of them can play at at time.

Title: A more complicated version of war
Review: This game aims to make a more interesting version of the classic card game War. It certainly adds some complexity. The set comes with a 6-sided die marked with two 1’s, two 2’s, and two 3’s; plus a bunch of cards.Even the instructions are printed on loose cards, which is not very convenient. (I assume this was done to simplify the manufacturing/packing process. Admittedly it isn’t a HUGE deal, but I don’t like it.)The added/modified rules don’t strictly require a special deck. The theming added by their deck might add some appeal for young children, but that’s about it. A standard 54-card poker deck (including jokers) can serve for the vegetable deck. The fruit cards really just represent the ranks 2-7 as a way of showing which rank(s) have become wild – so you could use any sort of markers for those ranks along with a way to choose randomly among them; simply taking a card of each rank from a second deck is the simplest way. The tomato cards are just tokens that enable an extra action; you could use anything. Even the battle die could be replaced with a standard d6 as long as everyone agrees how to use it as a d3 (e.g. by reading 1 and 2 both as 1, 3 and 4 both as 2, and 5 and 6 both as 3; or by reading 1 and 4 as 1, etc.; or by simply rerolling anything greater than 3).So the majority of the game’s value has to come from the rules themselves. There is a small strategic element added (deciding when to use tomato cards), but at best you can tilt luck a bit in your favor this way; it’s still fundamentally a game of extreme chance. In fact the basic rules for each turn aim to make the stakes of each random event higher. This may make it faster-paced, and depending the type of gaming you enjoy perhaps it will make the turns more exciting. But there is a cost: the added complexity just isn’t all that well thought out. (The instructions address running low on cards, for example, but only vaguely and without really covering everything that could happen.) You’ll definitely have to decide for yourself how to interpret certain seemingly-contradictory rules. As noted above, I received a copy of this game in exchange for writing a review; now that I have it, will I play it? Probably from time to time. Would I have thought it worth the money if I’d bought it at full price, though? I don’t think so. Recognizing that there’s subjectivity in deciding what games are fun, I’m not saying you or your kids would be disappointed; but I can only speak for myself.

Title: Interesting twist on classic card game War
Review: My kids enjoyed playing this game. The speed of the game really depends on the “battle dice.” It determines how many cards you flip each turn. If only one, then the round can really drag on, just like the original game of War. If you roll a three, then the round goes really fast. The game can last up to 6 rounds total, but my kids don’t really have the patience for that. We are content to play just one or two rounds.I appreciate that the game creator(s) added some elements to make the game more random. Flipping a fruit card to see which cards are wild cards adds interest and variety to the gameplay. Rolling the battle dice also adds variety to the game, but I would prefer to pick how many cards to flip to determine the speed of the rounds.
