Title: Must have for cooking: Camp or Home Kitchen
Review: Admittedly, I have not tried to put out a fire. It’s a weird situation because I don’t think many folks buy two fire extinguishers so they can try one…Initial impressions: Seems like a good product. I did take it out and have a look. The fiberglass material appears to be tight weave and still fairly pliable which means it will cover and lay out like fabric.Word of warning: There are a few mixed reviews about fiberglass on your hands after handling. Should have been aware of this, but didn’t think of it until I felt a couple of pokes on my finger and then realized I had just handled fire retardant material. Something to be aware of, but not something that should be shocking.Daily Use: Obviously, this won’t be ‘used’ daily, but there is a level of comfort having it hanging under the sink. From a safety perspective, it’s awesome. From an “I will have to clean and repair if an extinguisher is discharged” perspective, I am very happy. We have always had a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and one next to the garage door. While this offers a level of safety, its important to understand the day after. If someone has to discharge a fire extinguisher… it’s going to be messy. The fire blanket first plan means the fire can hopefully smothered and the extinguisher is a backup if there is spread. The size makes them appropriate for the kitchen and I plan on keeping one in the truck. However, as others have mentioned, the size is not really conducive to covering a person and I can’t see 39″ being enough to cover an outdoor or engine fire once it’s to the point of “out of control.”Ease of use: There are two black straps hanging out of the red envelope. All you have to do is hold the red envelope, pull the straps and it pops out. Throw it over the fire, pot, or grill. It really doesn’t get any easier. Something I would expect would even be good for teaching kids learning to cook. So, if you are looking for vehicle safety, outdoor/camping fires, or wrapping a person… I would reccomend you look to scale up in size significantly. However, if you are looking for something to keep in the kitchen, in your grill/griddle kit, or in the camp kitchen gear… HIGHLY reccomend.

Title: Glad to have these on hand
Review: I’ve been interested in getting fire extinguishing blankets like this, but had not taken the plunge. I decided to order this set and I am glad to have it on hand. I would love to test one out to see how well they work, but the package does say to dispose of it once it has been used. The package is meant to be screwed in place so that, in case the emergency, you just put on the tabs. This quickly get the fire blanket out of the package. It would probably be good to give my children lessons on how to use it but it does look a little tricky to get folded back up just right, and get it back in the package so that it can be pulled out quickly again. It feels like good quality heavy material. It is quite surprising how a blanket like this would be able to put out a fire so easily that almost anyone can figure out how to use it.I am hoping we won’t need to use it but I am glad to have it on hand if we do ever need it.

Title: Compact Sense of safety
Review: I’ve recently seen these trending and decided to order one since we have no fire protection at home at the moment. These are great because you don’t have to recharge them every year or so like a fire extinguisher. And while they don’t put out EVERY fire, they are perfect for the most common situation of a stove fire or something that is just starting out.The size of this one is perfect. When it’s in the pouch, it’s pretty compact and i can attach it to a kitchen cabinet door or even slide it into my small spice cabinet and it takes up very little room. When it’s unfolded it’s about 3ft x 3ft which is perfect to cover the whole stovetop or oven if they were to catch fire. The material for both the pouch and the fiberglass seem of good quality and i didn’t notice any defects. The ouch has an easy “pull to rip open” system with light velcro that is resealable so you can quickly access it. If you’re like me and don’t want to deal with maintaining an extinguisher and are pretty responsible in the kitchen, this is the perfect gadget to have as a backup for those rare accidents.

Title: Essential safety item for the kitchen or anywhere possible fire
Review: Review of 2 pack 40″x40″My only criticism is that the package does not include the mounting hook to hold it by the ring “upside down”. Fire blankets are designed to be so simple to use – grab the two black handles and pull the blanket out of the red bag hanging on a hook. The blanket unfolds into both hands ready to throw over the fire and smother the flame.Much more intuitive than in an emergency trying to figure out how to use a fire extinguisher, pull a pin and pull the trigger and aim it correctly. And, using a fire extinguisher leaves fine yellow dust in a mess everywhere. This blanket is heavy duty, thick, no stray fiberglass strands, in a quality package. Inexpensive way to possibly save your house!
