Title: What? Seriously? Yes. This thing is outstanding!
Review: This light is ridiculous for the price. It’s about the size of a half sheet of paper, it weighs practically nothing, it has a built-in battery that runs it for a couple of hours, and the color rendering is great. They claim 95 or 97 CRI; in my video work I usually aim for at least 95. I gotta say that this little light had me grinning ear to ear. I’m old school, in my days tungsten fresnels were what we used, and an HMI if you had a budget. By the time I left video, fluorescents were just catching on, and I had some Lowel CaseLites with Kino Flo tubes in them for daylight. Those **** things weigh about 40 pounds or so, and they’re huge and they need heavy duty stands and sandbags and the last time I used them on a fully extended stand, I had to rig them to the ceiling with ratchet straps to ensure that they couldn’t fall and seriously injure someone.Fast forward to today. I had to do an interview at a crowded convention, and I wanted a three-light setup without any of the horsecrap that all my lighting kit would cause. So I grabbed one of these and a bigger one from another brand and I cannot begin to express my joy with these.1. They’re feather light. I put this on the tiniest lightest Lowel stand I had, and used it as a backlight. No sandbags. No risk. Absolutely 10,000 times better than any other light technology.2. The light is good. It’s a glowing panel. No hotspots, no reflections, no nothing, just a nice flat evenly glowing panel. Great for a softlight, although IMO this light is too small to use for a key, that’s what I got the other one for. This light is about the size of a sheet of paper folded in half.3. They’re dimmable. No color shift that I could tell, just a throttle control that lets you pick the exact light output you want. What more could you want? Dimming an old tungsten would require having to actually bring a separate dimmer and plug it in; with these there’s a dial on the back and it’s easy as pie.4. They are variable color. Made of 3200 and 5600 LEDs, you can dial between the two and stop anywhere you want. Use it as a 5600 but dim it down a little and it’ll warm up the light and make for warmer/glowing skin tones. Use it under tungsten lighting, or in daylight, or mixed, whatever, it’s just a twist of the dial away.5. It’s got a battery! That is so obscenely convenient I can’t even. I can’t even. No power supply, no power cords, no tripping circuit breakers, no cords on the floor for people to trip on, nothing. Just stick it on a small stand and turn it on, and it’ll run for a couple of hours. You don’t even need a charger, as it charges by a standard USB-C port!6. The light is good. I white balanced off it and my professional video camera said it was about 5680K and the white card I was using was perfectly white, no green or purple tint like you’ll find on lousy lights.I used this light as a backlight. I used a bigger light on-camera on a Noga arm, holding it out to the side so it served as a nicely angled key light, and the overhead lights served as fill, and this little light made an awesome hairlight/backlight. Three point lighting with no power cords, no power supplies, no gaffer, no rigging, just an on-camera LED panel, ambient fill, and one little hairlight on a featherweight stand. It was heaven for a shooter, and frankly the footage I got is really very, very good. Will it break? Probably. It cost me $37. 5 years ago I’d probably have paid $350 for this thing, if anything like it even existed. Don’t drop it. Don’t mistreat it, treat it like it’s fragile (because hey, tungsten bulbs and fluorescent tubes are really fragile too, so get used to being gentle with your lighting equipment) and maybe it’ll last. Maybe it won’t. But if it does die on me, I’ll absolutely get another. Might stock up on them during Prime Days if they go on sale.

Title: Very Versatile LED Photography Light
Review: This light is small enough to mount on a camera if needed or can be placed on the included light stand or a talker stand depending on who you need it. I love it for shooting still life images as it’s perfect fit allowing me to dial-in the perfect amount of light and the perfect color temperature.I find that working with a fixed light source is easier than using a strobe and you’re able to evaluate and preview the lighting effect before releasing the shutter. It also useful for teleconferencing as you can place it directly on a desk it table and get as much light as needed.Adjusting it is very easy using the dual knobs on the back of the unit. It has a LCD display that indicates the settings you’ve adjusted it to plus a readout of the remaining runtime. It’s easy to change via most USB chargers and the runtime is very decent as it’s rated for 2-hours at full brightness. It’s also small enough and lite enough to throw into a medium size camera bag making it a nice tool to have on hand in the field. Just know that like most inexpensive LED panels it’s made of molded plastic so I’d suggest finding a padded bag for travel and storage. One last note… Like most of the USB chargeable devices I own, I noticed that after several weeks of storage the battery has discharged by about 20% so it’s probably a good idea to throw it on a charger for a couple of hours each month or so. I have a shelf where I store a bunch of USB devices and they’re all on a timer so that they are always charged whenever they are needed and they don’t get overcharged because they’re not charging all the time.

Title: Excellent and Versatile LED Light!
Review: This Bonvvie LED video light is a fantastic addition to my photography and videography equipment! I was looking for a portable and powerful light source, and this one delivers on all fronts. The built-in 5000mAh battery is a huge plus – it lasts for a long time and allows me to use the light on location without worrying about power cords. The USB Type-C ports are convenient for both charging and powering the light. The light quality is excellent. The CRI of 97 ensures accurate color rendering, which is essential for both photography and video. The adjustable color temperature (3000-6500K) allows me to fine-tune the light to match the ambient lighting or create different moods. The dimming function is also very smooth and precise, giving me complete control over the light intensity. The light is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around. It’s perfect for both studio and outdoor shoots. I’ve used it for everything from product photography to video conferencing, and it’s performed flawlessly in every situation. It’s also great for live streaming, providing a consistent and flattering light source. The build quality is impressive. The light feels solid and durable. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. I appreciate the thoughtful design and the included accessories.Overall, I’m incredibly impressed with this Bonvvie LED video light. Review: This is my third fixture in this size range, and the least expensive one to date.It comes with an usb-c charging cable, but no charger, a hot shoe mounting adapter, a truly fun and weird little tripod which can double as hand mount, which while not the most solid . . . is really neat ;-).The rear panel has two satin chromed knobs, one for intensity (0 – 100%), and one for colour temp (3000k – 6500k), and there is a good-sized LED screen to tell you what is going on (intensity set, colour temp, and battery life).CRI is claimed to be at 97% or better, and it seems to be a fair claim . . . colour is good. The accuracy of the colour temp is not precise as per the settings . . . and that is to my experience . . . normal for lights in this budget. I have a calibrated colour temp flash/continuous meter that I use frequently, and whenever I get one of these lower priced units . . . I check them (I also check my more expensive gear on a regular basis). The issue of the temp not being precise, is in today’s world, not a major crisis, as it can be fixed in post . . . ideally you want to be good at what you do so you don’t have to ‘fix in post’, . . . but.Anyways . . . if using a single light, no big deal . . . but if you start mixing a number of lights, it becomes very important to have consistency, and preferably accuracy on the display . . . alas :-(The illumination over the front, the screen, is very even across the entire surface.I wish this (along with the others I own) had a socket to accept an external battery. The internal battery life is reasonable (they claim 2 hours . . . which might be a bit optimistic . . . but reasonably close). A socket for an external would make any of these infinitely more versatile . . . as if you end up with a run down battery, you no longer have a useful light, but a weird looking paperweight instead. The unit is very well made, nice and thin. There is a brass insert threaded mounting socket underneath, and on the right side (looking from the rear), there is the socket for the USB cable. The little tripod is . . . fun! It’s plastic, doesn’t feel very solid, but it does all kinds of acrobatics. In it’s closed position, the legs fold down and encompass the upright (riser) that has mounting screw on one end, and threaded on the other. When the unit is closed up, it is just comfortable in the hand, so if you wanted the light mounted on the top screw, you can easily handhold the whole affair . . . the tripod with panel mounted.Unfold the legs, unscrew the ‘riser’, then turn it around and screw it onto the top plate, and you have a small light stand. the ‘riser’ is two part, so you can unlock it and adjust the height somewhat. The locking mechanism is not the most reassuring, but it works and seems rather well done . . . the whole thing is quite clever. It is definitely not the most solid of mounting options, but is just about perfect if you only need to set a small light as a kicker on a desk or table.Longevity? Who knows? . . . looks well made enough, so I have high hopes. For what the unit is, the price is very attractive.

Review: This is a really good broad spectrum photo and video light panel.I have a couple other smaller fill lights that I like to use but due to their small size the emitted light works more-so like a wide angle spot versus wider broader fill. This light assemble seems to fill that void that I so very much needed. The best feature of this light is the smooth variable kelvin light temps. On the back of the flat panel light are two control knobs. One for on-off and tuned brightness and the other for color temp from 3000 kelvin up to 6500 kelvin. The kelvin temps are adjustable in 100kelvin increments. So totally customizable to your photography needs. The brightness is indicated by a LED digital percentage indicator. The entire housing is made out of ABS plastic and is very well built. The included tripod is kind cool too. It’s a two piece tripod where the centre core unscrews out and can be attached on top for extended reach. Genius design and very compact.Lastly, a simple adjustable tripod head is included with a cold shoe and standard integrated 1/4 socket. This tripod head is made out of plastic and fairly cheaply made. For my purpose this light is ideal as a fill light or background light. It would also be fantastic used behind a photo scrim for table top photography due to its larger size and the amount of light that it emits.

Review: I do some video recording and don’t have a proper camera light that will mount onto my camcorder, cold shoe mount, when I saw this professional-looking light with control knobs I was quite interested, I show the light in my video! After opening and inspecting, the lamp is well-made and designed, and the white lens is perfectly diffused. I like the color and brightness of the control knobs and the unit is charged by USB C The lamp panel has a quarter-inch mount easily attached to the included tripod, it also comes with a cold shoe adapter that can tilt and is made of all plastic, but quite sturdy! The tripod/handle has a quick extension, a handy twist-locking feature, and is 13.5” 34cm tall.I fully charged the light before testing, I was quite impressed with the light panel’s defused light, the LED doesn’t show through the lens which is nice and looks more professional, and the light stays uniform when lit, the control knobs work well and can adjust the brightness from 1-100% so there are lots of light options, I find for a small panel it’s quite bright. The color knob dials in 35 Light colors from 3000K – 6500k, I used the light outdoors with my phone and camcorder and found it provides a decent amount of light. I have a camcorder and phone tripod with a cold shoe mount so this light works perfectly for either one. I did a capacity test and ran the light straight on the highest brightness and the lamp ran for about one hour and forty-five minutes, this is a good duration and the result is good as the light is 15 watts and the battery is 18.5-watt hours checked out. On the lower light levels, this light will run for many hours and I like that it quickly charges in about 2.5 hours with a 3A input. In conclusion, the light is perfect for still photography it is quite bright, and the temperature/colors, hue, and spectrum look nice. I feel this is a great lamp to add light to a person for a Vlog, Zoom calls, or basic media recordings it’s not going to be enough light to light an entire scene but it works well to carry in a pocket or backpack for a quick light source on the go. This camera light with tripod-diffused white light that will mount onto my camcorder is exactly what I wanted, I will be taking this everywhere, so I’m giving the Bonvvie On-Camera LED Video Light Kit 5 Stars.
