Review: It’s amazing that such a compact game can offer so much fun! We have a Family Dinner Night that usually concludes with some kind of game. We have a large span of ages, from 29 to 79 and we usually have at least 6 players, so it can be tricky to find a game that fits our criteria. It has to be somewhat easy to play, not too fast paced and, of course, fun. This game fits the bill, especially in the fun department. It’s easy to learn but does involve choice and chances since it is a dice game. You can fit this game in to whatever time constraints you are under,which is also a plus. There is also an alternate game that changes up play. We actually just tried this one last night and we almost like it better than the original game. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone 🙂

Title: Fun, quick game!
Review: Got this as a stocking stuffer for my train loving son (6) for Christmas. It was quick to learn, and has quickly become a family favorite! Great game for travel also as it’s just in a small tube. This company has many, many other dice games in other themes if trains do not appeal to you.

Title: Train Your Dice Game
Review: This is a great dice game with lots of train theme. It is probably the best actual game of the Koplow line of dice games. One rolls the dice and can only start scoring if an engine and a tender are rolled. If they are, the player may choose to stop with what they have, or press on in a classic press your luck game. There is a wonderful wrinkle to that with the freight train option, where if two engines (and a tender) are rolled, a player can keep rolling until they can no longer play a die to score points. Oh yes, the caboose only gives one point, but doubles the rest of the score. Lots of fun packed into a small package with this little game. I love it. Great for camping or just a short game at home. It fits in your pocket, a purse, a glove box or a lunch box. Have fun with this one!

Title: Short, Simple and Fun
Review: We originally bought these dice just for the novelty of using train dice in other games. After a year we finally decided to play according to the game directions that came with the game. Each number on the die has a train car. 6 engine, 5 coal tender, 4-2 cargo car, 1 caboose. The game play is very simple. Each player tries to build a train in 3 rolls by first finding an engine, next a coal tender and then adding as much cargo cars as possible. The cargo cars are the only cars with points. Adding a caboose automatically ends your turn but doubles your points. The first play to get 100 points wins. The only other rule involves adding an extra engine to make a freight train which can allow for more rolls and more points. If the the player has two engines, the coal tender and 3 cargo cars than the player counts the points for the cargo cars and rolls those 3 dice to try and collect more cargo cars. Rolling no cargo cars results in a loss of all points for that turn. The game goes pretty quickly. I’d say the average roll gets between 6 and 15 points but because of the freight train it is possible to win the game in one turn (but not likely). Overall we like these dice, they’re plastic but have a good weight to them. The train dice game is fun and these dice also work well for other games.
