Title: Super fun
Review: If you’re a fan of the board game you’re gonna love this version. Played like a card game with characters and items you use to defeat bosses and “curses”. Would highly recommend.

Title: Just Okay
Review: Our group loves the original Betrayal games so I thought this would be perfect. We didn’t love it. We might play it once in a great while, but it definitely won’t be played regularly. We decided that we’d never want to play the three person variant, which means you have to have exactly four or five players. That limits it already. We also had trouble with the art. The symbols were way too obscure. We couldn’t decide what was even supposed to be on a couple of them so you had to compare the symbols by passing the player card to check and see if that person was the correct person to use an item. Plus the symbols and words on the player cards were all printed in a metallic ink that created a glare and were hard to see. I included a picture so you can see what I mean. One of my visually challenged friends said she will never play it again. If they did a reprint with clearer symbols and got rid of the metallic print I do think we’d be more likely to pick it up again. It took a bit of learning to play, but seemed interesting and unique enough.

Title: Gorgeous Cards, Badly written instructions
Review: Gameplay is pretty fun and my friends enjoyed playing it… only complaint is that the directions on how to play were unclear on several situations and we had to make the rules as a group instead.

Title: Lame Cash-Grab using the Betrayal name
Review: If you’re looking for Betrayal at House on the Hill except in card form this isn’t it. This doesn’t really any passing resemblance to the Betrayal name. It has confusing instructions and once you figure out what you’re doing, it has terrible gameplay after that. The art is hideous, the font on the cards is difficult to read, and we suspect there may have been AI generation as part of the art. AI isn’t in and of itself bad but it is certainly lazy. That’s what this is: lazy. It’s poorly thought out mechanics and the word “Betrayal” slapped on it to give it some brand recognition. Avoid it and just stick to the board game.Oh and this is a small thing but it speaks volumes of the laziness. On the back of my box there was a misaligned barcode sticker with some wrinkles in it. I went to peel it off only to find this was PRINTED ON THE BOX ITSELF. So apparently they scanned the original artwork of the box, complete with bar code, and then printed it off as is. It looks like crap.

Title: Fun game, horrible art that makes it difficult to read
Review: The concept of the game is original and fun, the art, not so much, the art is overwhelming to see and plain ludicrous, it’s so abstract to the point that it almost feels like it was done by early AI image creator (not claiming that it was).If the art had been done more plain/traditional, the game would be easier to play.I guess they were going for call of chtulu nightmare art, which if they did, they accomplished it, but sacrificed easy reading
