Title: Works Great for Fruit Flies (But Not Drain Flies or Fungus Gnats)
Review: If what you actually have are fruit flies this works great. I put them out and within minutes the traps had flies on them and within a few more minutes I’ve begun to see the first of them falling into the solution through the Window of Death, which is oddly satisfying.I’m seeing other reviews on here talking about the traps not working and the flies buzzing right past them, and that’s because those folks have either drain flies or fungus gnats, and different tactics need to be used to eliminate those.Look up pictures of each type of fly to see which ones you have before you buy your treatment method! The only other negative reviews talk about the solution drying up and not being able to buy refills. It’s cheap and easy to make your own solution using common ingredients:Ingredients:Apple cider vinegar (the main attractant due to its fermentation-like scent)Sugar or Simple Syrup (optional, to enhance sweetness and attraction)Dish soap (to reduce surface tension and trap flies)Water (optional, to dilute if needed)Instructions:Mix the solution:1/4 cup apple cider vinegar1–2 teaspoons of sugar (optional, for a stronger lure)A few drops of dish soapAdd a small amount of water if desired, but don’t dilute it too much.Fill the traps:Open your empty Terro Fruit Fly Trap.Pour the homemade solution into the trap, filling it up to the line or slightly below the entrance holes.Replace as needed:Monitor the trap every few days and replace the solution when it becomes full of flies or less effective.

Title: No mess and it works!
Review: Works wonders on my fruit fly problem!! No mess and the flies just go right inside and then when the fluid is gone I simply toss it. No mess, no stickiness, just easy and simple.

Title: Oversight
Review: This product is amazing and works perfectly. All other products I have used do not even come close to the results you get with this one. Only drawback is that you have to re-buy the apples every time because the liquid is not sold separately. Huge oversight, and waste of materials! Sell the liquid separately please, so I can refill my apples!!!!

Title: They worked
Review: At first, the fruit flies just sat on top and I didn’t think it would trap and kill them, but after a few days, I didn’t see as many flying and could see them floating in all four of the traps. I still see a gnat or two after 4 days, but we had a pretty bad infestation from some vegetables brought in from the garden. I also bought a powered trap that I haven’t received yet, but will also use to prevent future outbreaks, as these will eventually require more liquid to maintain effectiveness. They did work to eliminate our gnat/fruit fly problem, just give it a few days to get them all.

Title: Removes Fruit flies
Review: Worked pretty well with fruit flies and it is neater and cleaner than an open cup with apple cider vinegar and dish soap, that is how I started.

Title: Works! Need to give it time though.
Review: It’s not a magic bullet in the sense that they attract fruit flies like a magnet to this liquid, but it works over time after the fruit flies in your place have nothing to do but explore a bit. I’ve had these for about a week now, and I’ve captured 15! I’m very impressed. I still see like 1 or 2 every now and then, but I didn’t realize this thing was working until I checked after a few days. The fruit fly traps come with 4 ‘bowls’ filled with what I assume is some sort of apple cider vinegar. Each bowl has a tiny 1inch window on two sides and on the bottom to view your kills. The kit comes with a little squeeze bottle of the vinegar solution and you need to put in about half into each receptacle.Easy to set up, no smell of the vinegar unless you’re really close to it.Highly recommend to just get it, set it and forget it.Edit!I’ve had these for 3 weeks now and I have killed over 30. I barely even see them anymore. They likely came through the vents from a neighbor’s apt.I recommend buying a big bottle of refill off of Amazon from any company that has an apple cider soap mixture so you can just reuse these containers.

Title: Works but You Better Do The Following Instead
Review: Since I love the TERRO brand’s ant bait (TERRO T300B Liquid Ant Killer) a lot, I had high expectations, but I was kind of disappointed with this product.Does it work? Yes, some what, but not as effective as I hoped. Here’s a better solution: Pour a couple of ounces of apple cider vinegar into a bottom-flat container (I use an old glass jam jar) and add a bit of dish soap. This works WAY better than the TERRO Fruit Fly Trap. How much better? I caught ~30 flies with the TERRO trap, but the vinegar trap caught 50+!Do I recommend this product? 50/50 – I’d rather just make one myself.

Title: This works but there are more economical options
Review: Used this to trap fruit fly that infested our house. It works but you’re not getting much of the liquid bait. For an infestation, we needed a larger volume than what’s provided. The bait will evaporate so the day supplied is not accurate if you use all the traps at once. The positive is it does work better than homemade baits. We wanted an alternative since the cost will add up with this option. We bought a large bottle of liquid bait (Dr. Killigan) on Amazon that doesn’t include the container/trap. So we poured the bait in a jar cap, covered with saran wrap, and poke some holes on top. Going this route was a better value with similar, if not better, results. Knocking off one star on this product since it’s not as economical as other options.
