Title: Solid quality and feel, a great set for a young aspiring Master
Review: Purchased as a Lightning deal ($20) for my 13 year old chess player. The packaging is compact and the quality is high on this set. It has not yet been used much, but appears to be a very nice set that will last him for many years and many challenges. He’s a member of the chess club at his school and definitely appreciated the quality of this set. Definitely worth the price we paid, very happy with the purchase.

Title: Nice for the discounted price, but don’t pay full price.
Review: While the chess board itself is nice, the pieces are rather “cheap” looking. I did like how they fit inside the folded up board for storage. I also liked that it came with a comprehensive instruction booklet. I am going to look for a nicer set of pieces to match up with this board before I give it to my grandson for his birthday.

Title: Recommend Looking At The $35 & Up Class Of Chess Sets
Review: Received today, shipping and packaging was typical Amazon–First Rate.As far as the chess set is concerned:On the Negative side:1. NOT “triple” weighted, barely”single” weighted, one could practically blow them over by simply exhaling out their nose.2. No white queen3. Missing 1 white rook4. 2 white kings.5. No elastic holds for pieces (not advertised as having, though, by rights, it should have)6. Magnet for holding case shut far too weak, you can barely feel it connectOn the Plus side:1. Nice case inside and out2. Padding nice3. Consumer packaging and other materials very niceConclusion:This is second low end class chess board I’ve tried and in both instances there are too many problems; if you’re lucky enough to get all the right pieces at the low price range then you’ve probably got something that’ll be good for kids. For a decent adult chess set it’s beginning to look like the $35 to $40 range is going to be more apropos.

Review: Good chess set for the price ($20). Nice that the wooden board folds and makes storage for the chess pieces (in two ziploc bags). Very light weight board and pieces though.

Title: Board okay, pieces awful
Review: The little wooden board is okay. The pieces came missing a pawn. One rook was weirdly melted asymmetrically. (How do you do that when they’re made out of wood?). All pieces are so lightweight they fall over. Really crummy. Wish we had not bought.
