Title: Nice rack.
Review: It works how it should, and holds my negatives as they dry. Be careful while clipping the film strips onto it, otherwise it’ll still be swaying by the time you come back.

Review: I ordered this JJC Darkroom 35mm 120 Film Drying Hanging Rack with 10 Clips to use when drying film that I’ve developed at home.I’ve been using ordinary clips hanging from a string placed over my shower to dry rolls of freshly developed 35mm, 120, and 4×5 film. This has not been an ideal situation. The clips I’ve been using do not fit well onto 4×5 film, and I’e dropped more than a few sheets onto the floor of the shower. 120 film has not been an issue, but the length of 35mm film has resulted in some of my negatives brushing up against one another if the clips slip along the string. I was hopeful that this hanging rack would resolve these issues. For 4×5 film, this hanger works very well. The clips do a good job of holding the negative by a corner without impinging on the image area. The negatives are quite secure. For 120 film, this rack also works well. For 35mm film, though, you need to be prepared to have limited space. Even though this rack has 10 clips, they are pretty close together. It would be virtually impossible to hang 10 rolls of 35mm film on this rack without having the negatives touch one another. This is true even if the rack is opened up as far as it will go. However, you should not have any trouble hanging 4 rolls. If you have exceptionally steady hands, you could probably get 6 rolls hung. Keep in mind that this assumes that there is nothing that causes the rolls of negatives to swing back and forth.Overall, I am satisfied with this rack. I have seen similar racks (albeit larger) and they are far more expensive. Even with its limitations, I would rate this as a good value.

Review: This film drying rack can certainly dry multiple rolls, or multiple cuts of rolls out at the same time. It can be collapsed to save space too and the clamps have pads to prevent damage to the film. I typically use Patterson’s clips and while I don’t always like the fact that they leave dimples in the film, they do leave minimal to no drying marks; since the clamps on these are a flat surface they don’t leave any marks on the film but can cause a bit of drying marks instead. Not necessarily worse than having dimples, but in any case it’s best to practice the rule of clamping far enough from the image itself, which is much more important to consider when you cut your film. What I do find a bit lacking is the build quality. Although there is nothing jarring that would affect the usability of the drying rack, it does leave a bit to be desired. For starters the plastic plugs at the end of the metal rods are oversized compared to the metal rods. It looks a bit weird though I suppose it’s useful for them to be shaped that way in case your hanger gets wet you can unplug them to properly dry it out. But the plastics bits aren’t well finished; the mold lines aren’t properly trimmer and can catch on your clothes when handling. The other part is that the “hinge” for the hook could have been attached more tightly, preventing the hanger from hanging off-center even when no film are attached.Otherwise it works quite well and the larger hook lets you hang it in any conventional rack, unlike the smaller hooks on Paterson clips that require a more specialized setup.

Review: I’m using this as a clothes hanger and absolutely love the quality! It’s all stainless steel and extremely well-made. They include 10 extra hanger clips to pull film roll taut, which I don’t really need for my purposes.
