A quick rundown of this product’s key features:
There are great deserts in space. Matter is not spread evenly. On average it balances out in all directions, but some regions are not average. For every dense cluster of galaxies in one place, there is a tremendous void somewhere else. There are no galaxies within the voids, no stars, no planets, and no moons. Scientists have theorized that anyone at the center of such an empty space would see only darkness in every direction. Even the brightest objects, they say, would be too far distant to be visible to the naked eye.
I got a chance to test that theory firsthand. I am the most distant exile in human history.
My name is Prisoner Number One. This is my story.

Title: A lovely fascinating story
Review: Despite the implausibility, the story is imaginative and heartwarming with memorable characters. The writing flows off the page and kept me interested . It was hard to put down. Just don’t let yourself say “that can’t happen” and settle in for a good read.

Title: Really Good Sci Fi Adventure Story!
Review: If you’re looking for something similar to Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary, this is the closest to it that I’ve found. It’s a great adventure story even though it takes place totally in a void area of space. It kept me reading for 2-3 hours every night until it was done. I’m now on book 3 in this series. I liked the main character who is a decent guy, and I liked his AI companion. The few detractions that I have are minor: I did find John (Prisoner Number One), to be naive. The story starts out with him running as a presidential candidate, yet he doesn’t exactly anticipate what happens next when he should have had a very clear understanding of who he was running against and that man’s character. Even up to the point where he is put into cryogenic suspension for the space flight, he still seems clueless. That didn’t ring quite genuine to me, but he is a hopeful, likeable protagonist. The character does not use profanity. This is a very “clean” book. I don’t know if that was on purpose so that it could more readily be marketed to young adults as well as to adults, or if the author is religious. I lean toward the second possibility since the King James Bible is mentioned multiple times through out this book and the others that I’ve moved onto. John says things like “darn” and “holy moly” which are pretty antiquated now much less for a character in the future. I think it would have been more realistic to have the character use more modern language. Also, John, seems really slow to do some of the things that others would have done within the first month of being stranded in the void. He seems really content with the status quo for decades, before attempting or authorizing some anticipated actions. Other than that, it is a very good book with a unique, compelling premise. I highly recommend the book to sci fi enthusiasts. Also, the ship has some really neat features to it that made the plot even more entertaining.

Title: Fairly Good Space Travel Novel
Review: Fairly good science fiction novel about space travel…. using cryogenic freezing to ‘deep sleep’ travelers as they transit to distant outer space. In this book (Book 1 of a series), a political prisoner is exiled (alone) to an empty void, gillions of miles from Earth. It takes millions of years just to get there. Story revolves around the traveler’s dealings with two AI entities that are onboard with him when he wakes-up and are programmed to protect him and keep him healthy (virtually forever), while cruelly denying him any options to return home or communicate. The AI interaction (and the plot that eventually develops) is a good story. I just didn’t like the millions of years in cryogenic travel time (that put the lonely traveler out of touch with anything that might have developed on Earth over all those years). Would have been a better story (to me) if it would have been hundreds of years (or even thousands) so that he would at least have loose ties to the world he was exiled from.Anyway, it was interesting (although a pretty good ‘stretch’ of the imagination). I finished to the end, but no book 2 for me

Title: Time Well Spent
Review: What a pleasurable time spent reading this book. In the beginning I thought it was going to be old fashioned, in not a good way. The book moved slowly and seemed sort of hokey. There several sections that major events were sort of glossed over, but in reality those were not germane to the story. This is not a hard science fiction novel and doesn’t try to explain future technology. The focus is on humanity and what a good person looks like and does. Really much more uplifting than the hard science type. Although I do like a good technical story. What the author does well here is create a kind and generous tale that in the end will warm your heart, it certainly did mine. I am grateful to the author for taking time to write this book. It made my day better.

Title: Very much worth the read
Review: Great imagination, great character development and tightly written. Why not 5 stars? The end was a bit too saccharine for my taste.

Title: Riveting!
Review: This book was most refreshing! I got it just because it sounded like nothing I have read! The descriptions of his life and how he overcame obstacles along the way was ingenious! A story of triumph in an impossible situation! Really impressed with the way the writer brought you through the story! You MUST READ!

Review: I enjoyed this book all the way through, which is interesting because there’s little in the way of action throughout. But I think that’s it really, the story is a first person account of being exiled from your home and family, coming to terms with being 200 million years away from home, also coming to terms with making an asteroid your home, finding ways to topple corrupt organisations on the other side of the universe, and having your (thought lost forever) family drop by to visit you there. The universal story of humanity all over again! Anyway, I think the beauty of this book is that the characters are written to be relatable (including the AIs) and so you get a yarn that may not have lots of soaring highs, but certainly has no real lows either – so basically it’s a nice enjoyable read on every page and I’m glad I decided to give it a go.

Review: An old fashioned story, quite reminiscent of Asimov or Heinlein. If you don’t think about the plot too hard you’ll have a lot of fun.
