Title: Fun and LOTR!
Review: I like how we work together instead of against each other. I really like all the LOTR scenes and characters! Fun and challenging.

Title: Fun, very interesting
Review: The rules were a bit hard to understand but once we got the hang off it, it became more enjoyable. It’s well made, the colors very nice as well as the details. Overall it’s a very nice buy for the price, the board game is nice in size as well.

Title: Best for solo play or beginners
Review: First off, this is a very simple game to learn. There are only a few pages of instructions, and I think it can be easily taught to those in the “10 & Up” range that this is made for.It is a cooperative game. But in reality, all characters and cards are shared between the players; players merely take turns rolling the dice and deciding (with discussion allowed) which rolls to apply as the Fellowship advances toward Mount Doom. Therefore the experience of co-op vs solo is exactly the same. However, the “shared characters” may make it easier to play with (ie help) younger players.I would say the game has a higher than average luck factor, and a mid or slightly under strategy component. That said, it’s probably the right amount for younger players and beginners.Thematically, it’s neat because it’s LOTR, but it could easily be any other “Escort this VIP to their destination” game. The movable characters from the Fellowship don’t have any unique abilities. The theme is mainly in the artwork of the board and cards rather than in the gameplay.Playable in an hour.Overall, as an adult, I didn’t love it or hate it. As a board gamer, I think the payoff is a bit light compared to other options so I probably won’t go back to it often. But as a solo game, or especially a game to play with beginner gamers or younger players, I think it hits the mark.

Title: Fun and not too long
Review: I have a lot of long complicated LOTR games. This one is easy to learn and only last about and hour. It is a lot of fun and anyone can learn to play even kids. It is well make and will hold up to a lot of use. Great for fans or just family night.

Title: Fun cooperative game, challenging, good replayability
Review: This is a solid co-op game. The rules are complex at first, but take time to watch the how-to playthrough video and it’s pretty straightforward. It’s challenging to play and you will probably lose a couple times before figuring out a good strategy to get the Hobbit to the end. Great replayability and a nice gift for the LOTR and tabletop lover, even for those who don’t know much about LOTR.

Title: Great Fun and possible to play 1 player
Review: Loved how easy it was to learn within 10 to 15 minutes. Play was easy as well to the point I think a child over 7 could play just fine maybe younger with adult help.

Title: How exactly is this multi-player?
Review: This game is based on the Lord of the Rings story, and the goal is to move the ring bearer from Rivendell to Mount Doom. If you make it all the way to Mount Doom, you win, but various trials along the way might keep you from reaching your goal. The game looks a little complicated at first, but the rules aren’t actually too involved. There are some quick videos on YouTube that will help you get started if you don’t want to wade through the rule book. Each turn mostly consists of rolling a group of dice, selecting which ones you like, and then rerolling some dice. Decisions are pretty limited because you just move the party members as far as the dice say. In some ways, this game plays like a rather elaborate version of Snakes and Ladders. My biggest complaint about this game is that it’s not really a multiplayer game. Each player just takes turns doing what the player before did. There’s no sense of ownership of any of the pieces. In a real cooperative game, each player has their own resources or actions that they use for the group’s benefit. This game is kind of like playing Solitaire with two people who just keep swapping out after each card is moved. But if the lack of true multiplayer doesn’t bother you, then this could be a fun game, especially for Lord of the Rings fans. It could be a fun game to play with people who aren’t game hobbyists. Hardcore gamers will probably be annoyed that there’s more luck than skill. You certainly aren’t going to win every time. One last thing, the game pieces are cardboard cutouts in little stands. It would have been nice to have plastic figurines, but the game pieces aren’t bad for the price.

Review: Good quality for the price. The game is simple enough for younger kids to play. It’s a great cooperation game. Encounter familiar friends and battle the enemies along the way to Mount Doom. You can plan your moves, but sometimes, Sauron can still get the best of the game.

Review: Yes, it has rules to follow, yet it is fairly easy once you gasp just were those rules play out. It might become dull quickly to a hardcore gamer. Although it would be a great choice to hardcore gamers looking to game after a long day at work. Simple yet challenging, even though, there is a fair amount of luck to it. You will not win every time. If you do, you aren’t playing it correctly. The rules flow, once you play it or even watch a play through. Great for family game night!Over all; It’s a solid game to have in your cabinet that won’t break the bank.
