Title: Best Bang for your Buck camera System
Review: If you’re trying to get away from those annoying high-priced subscriptions, then this might be the best value-for-the-money camera system. I was really surprised they included the base station with the two cameras, instead of selling them separately. This alone makes this bundle worth it in my opinion. The picture quality is very good especially during the day, at night the quality is very nice, though it does take a slight hit. Installation was pretty straightforward, and the app more or less walks you through everything. For my configuration I didn’t use the base station, instead I just had the cameras connect to my wifi directly. Battery life is about average maybe a bit over the average but this will heavily depend on your use case and the amount of activity. Overall, I think this is a fantastic camera bundle for the majority of people. ReoLink has been around for quite a while and has built a pretty good rep in the marketplace. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Title: Great alternative to a subscription based model (like Ring)
Review: Lots of companies are pushing subscription based models (I have a ring doorbell with an annual fee) if you want to have any sort of video playback/storage. The ReoLink setup here offers an alternative to that by giving you everything you need to setup your own local storage of the video playback files.Couple pros:1. Easy to setup. Battery powered cameras require no wires, just a WiFi connection.2. Quality is decent. Good but not stellar.3. No monthly fees! Some things to consider1. You will need to buy solar panels to power the cameras. It says the battery will last for 6 months but that’s ideal.2. The storage hub does NOT connect via WiFi. It MUST be plugged into your router via Ethernet cable. Take that into consideration as to whether you have an empty port as well as physical placement.

Title: Great value and good performance
Review: These security cameras provide a good image, local storage, no subscription fees, and long battery life. They feel like good quality cameras and they do pretty much all I would expect a system like this to do. One thing that differs from a couple other wireless cameras I own is that this one requires connection via ethernet instead of allowing a WiFi connection. That means you’ll have to locate the hub close to the router. The cameras don’t include solar panels but they do feature long battery life so they should only need to be charged 2-3 times a year depending on usage patterns. Solar powered cameras usually have much smaller batteries that only last a few days without solar recharging as opposed to 4-6 months like these. I personally prefer the long battery life because I can mount them anywhere I want without thinking about sun exposure and they don’t draw as much attention without the solar panels nearby. Overall these are very reasonably priced cameras for the functionality.

Title: Email Alerts Not Working
Review: It tells me to try another email address. I suspect it is because I have two factor authentication enabled. Chat support is mostly useless; requesting a real person didn’t result in a real person, so I had to submit a support request.

Title: Can’t get it set up
Review: I’m still struggling to set this up and get it working. I’m not sure if it’s my internet connection or what the problem is, but the app won’t accept my Wi-Fi password when it comes to that point.

Title: Solid system, great value
Review: I have other Reolink cameras that are hardwired and this is my first experience with their wireless cameras. I like all of the functionality that you get for the price. The setup is super easy, it does do best when the base is hardwired, but the cameras load within a few seconds the the video is clear even at night. It has motion sensor lights that can come on as well to act like security spotlights, these aren’t super bright but they do the job.

Review: It’s my first time trying REOLINK security system products. I am happy to find about its decent performance as home security, especially with no monthly fees. The package came with two Argus 3E cameras and the home hub, and what I appreciate mostly is the completely wire-free setup. The cameras have built-in rechargeable batteries, so installation was such a piece of cake. I didn’t have to mess around with cables, and it’s honestly way easier to position them exactly where I need them.Battery life is decent too, lasting around two months per charge. That said, taking the cameras down to recharge, especially if they’re up high, does take a bit of effort. But for the freedom of going wireless, I’d say it’s worth it! The cameras don’t get activated unless there is moving people or object. Therefore, I would recommend some consideration when placing the cameras focusing on a traffic-busy area because busier traffic means more battery drain. The REOLINK app deserves a big thumbs up for its ease and flexibility. I can fine-tune just about everything, from motion sensitivity to viewing saved footage, all from my phone. Plus, the hub supports more than two cameras, which is great if I decide to expand my setup. I do wish the hub were a bit more versatile as it only records short clips rather than continuous footage, which covers most needs but isn’t ideal for capturing longer events. Also, it doesn’t allow extra storage beyond its SD card, nor does it support video output to a monitor or TV. Everything has to be viewed through the app, which can feel a bit restrictive. On the bright side, if I ever need a permanent record, I can pop out the SD card and save footage directly to my computer. For a workaround, I sometimes use an old tablet as a dedicated “monitor” by connecting to the app, though it does seem to drain the cameras’ battery life a lot faster. Still, such function is important while I need to check constantly when my child is playing at the front yard.Speaking of video quality: crisp and clear, day or night. The two-way audio feature is also decent, making it easy to communicate if I need to. I particularly like that there’s no monthly subscription. That alone makes this home security system a super affordable, practical choice if anyone is looking to secure the home on a budget.

Review: I was looking for split ONVIF compatible cameras that can run on both battery and powerline and it took me a while but I think I found it. Reason why I’m particular about ONVIF is – portability to other softwares like iSpy, Synology Surveillance station, VLC etc..Let’s start with TL;DR gist:* Hub supports RTSP, RTSM, ONViF* Hub can be accessed via browser both HTTP/HTTPS* Battery cameras can also be plugged with simple USB-C cable and that way bypass battery limitations* Crystal clear picture* Works in iSpy (Agent DVR) and Synology Surveillance Stations* SD card (for hub) not includedProblem that I always have with cameras is that it’s harder and harder to find ONVIF compatible. Reolink makes great cameras and those that are not battery based usually supports ONVIF but if it’s on battery than no and the reason is because manufacturers think that people will have live stream by using ONVIF protocol (because they can) and that way drains battery and shortens its lifespan. This is true even in this set but thanks to hub you can bypass this limitation and use ONVIF protocol. Like I mentioned, if you do but you are using cameras on battery, make sure it’s not 24/7 streaming.Ok, with that out of way let me talk about installation.Installation was very straightforward. First I hooked the hub with the UTP cable to my switch and powered it on. Then I installed the Reolink mobile app and the app detected the hub on the network immediately. Obviously, since it’s connected via ethernet cable, the router gave it an IP address, so there was no need for steps like typically with WiFi.Sidenote: It would be a good idea if you have trust issues and a high-end type of router that supports VLAN to put a hub in IoT IP space. I do this always with WiFi IoT devices since I have 3 WiFi domains but my router doesn’t have VLAN so I couldn’t do that with ethernet connections and had to allow the hub to sit in my trusted IP range.Anyways, once, hub is up and running, the first thing you might want to do if you want to enable access from the browser and enable ONVIF protocols is to set it up that way because by default everything is disabled and the hub will work only via mobile app. It’s a little bit buries in options, so here is steps how to do it:ENABLING WEB ACCESSIn mobile app click on “Reolink Home Hub”Now, click on “Settings”Now this is confusing part, no, you don’t go on Advanced but instead you have to click on image on top, again “Reolink Home Hub”In this step you get various info on model, UID, etc… and it looks like it’s all read only. It’s not. Click on “Network Information”And now, finally, in this “Network Info” pane, click last option – “Advanced”There you go, turn on HTTPS (no need for HTTP as it will automatically redirect to HTTPS), then optionally if you want to use cameras with some other software, then enable RTSP and ONVIFNow you can access the hub from the web browser from your PC by entering the hub’s IP address. You can find it on mobile app settings/network information or directly on your router.ADDING CAMERASLast step is to add cameras and you can do that by opening “Reolink Home Hub” and then clicking on “+” in the upper right corner.App will guide you through the rest of the process but in essence, you will need to turn on camera (small switch on back side of camera), tell app that you’re adding camera on existing LAN and then in one step you will get QR code on screen which you need to show to camera. After that, the initial setup is completed.iSpy / Agent DVRIf you’re adding these cameras to iSpy, the process is also very easy.In iSpy you will have to add a new ONVIF camera. Ener admin and password that you set before and when you get IP addresses of all cameras in your network, one will be from reoling hub (not cameras itself). Choose hub IP address and instead of two streams (one for live view and one for recording) you will get 4 streams because each camera is sitting on its own channel but the same (hub’s) IP address. That’s it! Repeat the process for the second camera by choosing 2nd channel and you’re done. If you go this route, you can set up recording on a device running iSpy service (example, it can be RaspberryPi with an external disk). Conclusion: this is a great surveillance system with possible different scenarios and support for popular protocols to be used in other softwares. Although the price is steep, this system justifies it.Final verdict: 5 stars

Review: So a bit of background. Coming from a Nest Outdoor Camera system, there’s several issues. 1. Subscription costs are going up. 2. 2.4GHz wifi is increasingly flaky 3. 1080p is not up to par in 2024.Unfortunately, this Reolink Outdoor Camera System only addresses two of these problems. I got all ready this weekend to finally install the cameras outside, did my tests inside and realized the cameras would only connect to my 2.4GHz wifi! Due to how congested my area is, even connecting to my smart lock on this band is problematic at times. I didn’t realize that 5GHz is only available on the Ultra line up, because even their cheap door bells are 5Ghz compatible. So sadly, did not install the Argus 3E. Should still be able to pair up the Home Hub with the door bell though.

Review: I recently had the pleasure of testing the Reolink Security Cameras Outdoor System, and I must say, it’s truly remarkable! From the start, it exceeded my expectations with its ability to record on a centralized hub—making it a perfect solution for areas without Internet or power. The system’s versatility is impressive, offering top-notch security features while ensuring all footage is encrypted for added peace of mind. Plus, the flexible settings allow you to fine-tune alerts, and the siren sounds from both the camera and the hub, giving an extra layer of protection! Here are the standout features that make this system shine:🎥 Exceptional Video Quality & Timelapse:The timelapse feature is simply amazing! With a stunning 3M video quality, I was able to capture crystal-clear footage both day and night. The cameras cover a surprisingly large area—just two cameras are enough to safeguard a wide space. The night vision is equally impressive, offering vivid and colorful details, while the option to switch to infrared provides sharp black-and-white footage.📡 Hub Connectivity & Speed: The dedicated WiFi network provided by the Hub ensures a fast and stable connection with the cameras. Even with the Hub positioned 50 feet away and a wall between us, notifications were lightning-fast! It supports up to 8 different cameras, making expansion incredibly simple.🔒 Rock-Solid Security: One of the most comforting features is that even if someone steals a camera, all footage remains securely stored on the Hub. That’s smart tech that truly protects what matters most!🤖 Intelligent AI Detection – Person, Vehicle, Animal: Equipped with AI-powered detection, this system does an excellent job of distinguishing between people, vehicles, and animals, cutting down on unnecessary alerts. You’ll only get notified about what truly matters.💸 No Monthly Fees – Complete Control: I love that there are no ongoing costs for managing this system! The centralized control, encrypted footage, HD remote live viewing, and daily security summaries make monitoring easy and stress-free. With the potential to add more battery or solar-powered cameras, I can’t wait to expand. For now, the battery life is fantastic – up to 5 months for each camera! I will update my review after a few months;💾 Storage & Camera Compatibility: The Hub supports up to two SD cards (1GB in total), making storage flexible. It’s also compatible with various PoE, Wi-Fi, and battery-powered cameras – check the Reolink website for a full compatibility list. What Could Be Better: I think adding solar panels to keep the cameras charged 24/7 would take this system to the next level. But overall, I’m incredibly happy with how it performs!All-In-All: the Reolink Security Cameras Outdoor System is a stellar choice for anyone looking for a flexible, secure, and cost-effective solution – no wires, no Internet, no power required. For just $265 + tax, it’s a smart investment that can easily grow with your needs. Highly recommended!

Review: These security cameras and home hub are fantastic. One of the best on the market. The cameras have phenomenal image quality although a narrow field of vision compared to some others, hence “directional”. The movement detection I’d good but not great. Depends how you angle it. Do your best to respect the suggested height and angle mentioned in the manual. The sound quality is mediocre at best and I think it takes more space on the recording than it’s worth. The reolink ecosystem is one of the best. The app is feature rich. The app is available on iPhone, Android and PC! Rare for other manufacturers. The app is fast and streaming is good quality. The fact these cameras are wireless is a blessing and a curse. On one hand its a pain to deal with when time to charge. There’s also the possiblity of theft if they are within arm’s reach. But also there’s no wires to run.One flaw in this design is that the camera needs steady communication to the base station to be able to record on the base station SD card. This means that a simple wifi jammer renders your cameras useless. However, the camera does have its own SD card slot, except nobody is gonna use that. The benefit to this kit is to use the hub.Overall I’m happy with it and no problem recommending reolink. Just know the limitations of a wireless install, and the hub.
